Incredibly good value. Surprised to find such a clean, comfortable, well-decorated room for the money (we booked last minute). Recently completely refurbished. Tea, coffee, biscuits- nice big mugs. Our only regret was that we didn’t eat there, as we’d originally intended. It was very busy indeed on that Sunday afternoon (we should have taken this as a sign) and we fancied a quiet drink, so crossed over to The Devonshire Arms and enjoyed one in a pleasant area. We then made the mistake of eating there, too, and had a really dreadful meal (they couldn’t even manage a good fish and chips). So, there is a reason for the crowds at The Wheatsheaf! We will, for sure, eat with you next time!
Big car-park. Easy walk directly from there to Chatsworth. Manageress very welcoming.

Fabulous location fabulous food lovely accomodation
We will be back
Everything we hoped for was fulfilled. The room was excellent as were our hosts Annie & Adam, also the facilities, ironing board, fridge, hair dryer and tea/coffee. The locations very quiet with a great pub only being 2 minutes walk away.
We ate in the pub for 2 nights which was superb and on the last night visited the Shalimar in Matlock, again superb. We visited Chatsworth house, Bolsover Castle & Haddon House which were extremely enjoyable experiences. Suffice to say we would definitely stay here again.
