The bedroom was large, clean and comfortable. I received a lovely greeting on arrival and was offered a choice of food. Fabulous bar area with a roaring fire. Breakfast was perfect. I was also given a takeaway coffee when I was heading home.

The hotel is actually at Yattendon a few miles from Frilsham and as I stayed overnight in winter I didn't see Frilsham.
As I used to live not that far away I knew the Royal Oak had a good reputation.
