The room was lovely, great size, beautiful view of the coast, beach and seafront, brilliant that the room had a fan as it was quite warm in there and the bathroom had a bath which I really appreciated as I had just completed the Marathon Mighty Hike so it was a bonus to be able to relax in a hot bath and there was a bottle of Radox there so that was a bonus

Very clean with good facilities. Pier looking very tired with quite a few of the small shops closed which is a shame as definitely one of the main features of the town. Lots to do round town and along the coast. A visit to Harry Ramsdens for fish and chips a must

The bus service was amazing.
The bus service was amazing. As pensioners we were able to use our bus passes to visit Pevensey Castle and Hastings.
We also went on the open-top tourist bus, which took us on a circular trip to Beachy Head - unfortunately it was very misty that day, so couldn't enjoy the spectacular views.
We ate out on three occasions and can recommend Shimla Indian restaurant, Little Elephant Thai restaurant and Gr/eat Greek Restaurant.
We were hoping to get information about buses at the Tourist Information office (which was located on our little map in the centre of town). However, we were told it had been moved ten minutes out of the centre, which we felt was a very poor decision, since the original was near the train station and right where people would need it in the centre of town.

Hmm, Eastbourne.
Hmm, Eastbourne. Like many Victorian seaside resort towns, there is a faded glamour about it. The seafront and promenade are nice, and nearby Beachy Head is beautiful. Unfortunately, the town centre is a bit generic and down at heel, as well as the pier. Only about half of the restaurants seemed to be open. However, there are attempts at revitalisation, with the art gallery for example, and some of the larger houses outside of the centre look a bit genteel. Maybe gentrification will come soon, after people are priced out of Brighton, or dare I say it, Worthing and Hastings.

I was disappointed about the general cleanliness of the town and areas away from the sea front. Bins were emptied but litter around them in Marine parade was not cleared.
The gardens were full of weeds along the sea front beds and not the usual display of flowers The remnants of the Burlington Hotel remain an eyesore and spoil the once good image of the seafront. (May be its a listed building)

There are at least 3 theatres. The seafront is attractive. The pier is interesting and well worth a visit. There's a big shopping mall in the centre but within walking distance of the seafront. Lots of reasonably priced places to eat and drink.

Eastbound is lovely for a nice weekend away.Take a tour bus on the loop good price for 24 hours use went to beachy head what is great for a walk and fantastic view’s and would recommend the Beachy head bar for food and a drink to .
We love Eastbourne it is great for a peaceful getaway from the London/Surrey area. The Cavendish is our favourite hotel the staff especially Dana are so welcoming always and the facilities are grand. They match our needs as my wife is a little disabled and finds difficulty in walking so all amenities are close to hand here. Not being far to walk to the beach and also town centre and good hotel lift facilities make it such a restful experience.
Excellent hotel, one of the best I have stayed at. The location is great, near to both the beach and the pier, and also to the town centre, which is very walkable. The appearance and decor are both lovely, whilst the public areas (terrace, restaurant, bar) are very comfortable. The whole hotel is very clean, accessible, and comfortable. The staff are lovely, friendly, and very helpful. I would certainly book to stay here again.
excellent location right on the seafront, had a single room with a balcony with sea view which was great. Had bath sheets in the bathroom which was a lovely bonus. Breakfast was great, table service served without being rushed such a nice change from a buffet. Room clean and staff very polite, a housekeeper commented to me without being prompted "it is a lovely place to work" A great ambiance to the hotel. A lovely stay
Excellent location very near the pier, seafront and town centre. We had a Seaview room overlooking the pier. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and quiet. This is a basic hotel, so no frills, but a hairdryer was provided on request and there was tea/ coffee facilities. Beds were clean and comfortable and the room was serviced daily. A pleasant stay.
Staff helpful let us in room at 2pm as ready, Room upgraded see view (genius) Room 215 on corner good choice & size, ensuite bath. Ironing board, hairdryer etc. Cooked buffet breakfast, other choices. Value wise this hotel takes some beating. Paid £2 park for road permit at desk lasts till 11am next day (covers massive H zone which is most of seafront and sideroads)
The hotel doesn’t serve breakfast at the moment but they can provide a really excellent bag with croissants, yoghurt, butter jam etc. at the reception. I liked the room decor which retained some original features with modern lighting. Loved the fish wallpaper on the feature wall.
Also, they give you a handy map of nearby restaurants (with discount vouchers).
Such a warm and friendly welcome and our room was lovely. This is our third stay at The Oban and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else - the hotel is in a great location on the seafront and is very good value for money. Thank you so much for another relaxing stay in Eastbourne. Highly recommend.
Location on seafront very nice.within walking distance to shops and eating places.also bustop few yards from hotel if you wanted to have trip to Hastings or Brighton and leave car behind.Eastbourne has a nice shopping centre undercover.
It was immaculate, I couldn’t fault the cleanliness. Staff were also so helpful and polite. Definitely the best place I have stayed in Eastbourne and I’ve tried most of the hotels along the seafront.
Economy hotel in a great location close to the Promenade and Congress Theatre. Clean. Street car parking at a modest 2.20 per night. The duty manager Ashley was most friendly and helpful.
What a super modern hotel with fantastic views over the seafront in Eastbourne. We couldn’t fault it, from the friendly staff, the clean and comfortable room, to the tasty breakfast.
Location of course was great as you would expect booking a hotel on the seafront. However, that’s not a good enough excuse to pay that amount, the hotel was awful.
