Marshwood Farm B&B and Shepherds Hut, hotel in Dinton

Offering a garden and garden view, Marshwood Farm B&B and Shepherds Hut is located in Dinton, 15 km from Salisbury Train Station and 15 km from Salisbury Racecourse.

I was absolutely blown away by this stunning B&B! It is a truly gorgeous house and the bedroom was huge, super comfortable, wonderfully quiet and amazingly clean. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had away from home, all local produce and cooked perfectly. I had stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Berlin the night before - I prefer Marshwood Farm! The host was so welcoming and lovely, I felt like I was coming to stay with old friends! I am busy working out other reasons for visiting the area in order to come and stay again, this time with friends and family!

Compasses Inn, hotel in Dinton

Situated in Lower Chicksgrove, 2 miles from Tisbury, Compasses Inn offers accommodation with free parking, free Wi-Fi, a pub, and a restaurant.

We happened across The Compasses Inn as we needed somewhere to stay locally for work, but had no idea what a treat we had in store. The attention to detail of the team here is second to none and the rooms are excellent and well appointed. We had to leave before breakfast service on our first morning, and so were treated to a hamper of beautifully presented and delicious goodies left outside our room. The cooked breakfast on our second day was also superb. Make sure you book ahead for dinner, as this place is rightly enormously popular. The menu is well curated, and excellently executed. The bar/restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, and such charmingly hosts.

The bar and public areas are lovely. Cosy bar area inside with open fire. Lively outdoor area. Great for a drink and food with friends. Brownies and fresh milk for tea and coffee in the room on arrival was a nice touch.

The Mill House, hotel in Dinton

The Mill House, a property with a garden, is set in Berwick Saint James, 7.2 km from Stonehenge, 13 km from Salisbury Train Station, as well as 14 km from Salisbury Racecourse.

A lovely location - an ancient Mill House on the banks of a river in an archetypal Wiltshire village. Michael, the host (and an excellent one at that!) is well established here and and it's fortunate he has decided to share! The rooms are very individual and all well appointed. The only meal available is breakfast but everything is available to individual taste and Michael cooks the Full English himself if you fancy that! We had dinner in the local, The Boot Inn (another excellent venue) both nights we stayed - it's literally just 5 minutes walk away at the other end of the village.

    Great welcome, very friendly host.

Great welcome, very friendly host. Good facilities & excellent choice at breakfast (continental) Huge field at the rear of the property was excellent for dog walking. Lovely pub/restaurant within one mile easily walked to. The bed could do with an upgrade as the mattress was a bit flat. Otherwise very happy with our stay & would visit again if in the area as it was excellent value for money.

We used the cottage as a base to explore wider area. Salisbury Museum and Cathedral were great. The park and Ride bus service was brilliant and very easy to access from Wilton. Lots of interesting places within 20 mile radius of the cottage.

Dinton is a village with 1 pub in the village and the Penruddock on the outskirts. All clean and tidy from the journey I took through the village. Not to far from Salisbury which where i went for my week stay.
