Lovely large bedroom in the Willows converted bungalow across the road. Tastefully decorated. Bed was superb, super king and so comfortable. Bathroom had a bath and separate shower cubicle. Very quiet and looked out over a field. Traditional pub with oak beams and open fire. Lovely atmosphere with good mix of guests and regulars. Breakfast was excellent, with good quality ingredients. We ate there in the evenings too. Above average pub grub, good sized portions in comfortable surroundings. All staff were friendly and attentive. A special mention for Gail who as well as running breakfast service took time to suggest places of interest to visit. Thank you

- Excellent location just a 10 minute drive from stansted airport, and free parking.
- The room was really comfortable and beautifully decorated, it had everything we needed and some lovely things for breakfast included.
- The hosts responded to messages really quickly and were very helpful with directions.

Over priced as now failing to deliver on tired facilities and food below standard. Amazing staff handled issues well by crediting most of the meals at payment time but that isn’t what we intended. Always happy to pay for good food.

As weather was great it was lovely to sit outside before going in for dinner.
Close to Audley End Historic House and Cambridge.
If travelling from the north stop off at Anglesey Abbey (National Trust).
Debdale Barns near Saffron Walden offering eclectric mix of antiques, Gifts etc. as well as a coffee shop is worth a visit and close by.
