Very cosy, room was spacious and warm. One of the best nights sleep I have had in a while.

Large spacious room, great selection of breakfast!! Wouldn’t fault it one bit except it was really warm in the room and we couldn’t control the radiators. But all in all lovely service and a great little stay! Would highly recommend.

We enjoyed an excellent stay at Westwood House! Nothing was too much! Our room was lovely, the breakfasts delicious and Carl and Jocelyn were delightful! We had no idea of the wonderful sights, walks and history that are part of Dorchester! We highly recommend Westwood House for your stay there!

Very good communication before the trip, with a warm, friendly welcome on arrival. They were able to store our bags for us when we arrived early, and on the day of departure.
The decor of the hotel and bedroom was very opulent, smart and tasteful, with lots of lovely touches in the room, including gorgeous toiletries and a fridge with a mini carton of milk, which was very welcome instead of UHT milk!
There was also a minibar with a range of goodies, some of which were included in the room rate.
The bar and lounge area were lovely, inviting spaces to sit and relax with a cup of tea or glass of wine; perfect after a day of sightseeing.
The location is ideal for the many local museums that Dorchester offers, and, even though we were next to the road, traffic noise wasn't really an issue (although they provide ear plugs in the room if needed).
All in all, a perfect place for a minibreak (especially with its literary links).

A delicious breakfast - the owner went to a great deal of trouble to get it right, The hotel is quirky and interesting with a lovely conservatory and guest lounge.
Very well placed for Dorchester. Hotel is set in it's own grounds so it's quiet and private but very convenient.
Charminster itself seems very quiet. Had to go into Dorchester for evening meal. But it was a pretty village to go and run round in the morning before breakfast.
All staff very friendly & helpful; breakfasts offer the usual good options including 'full English'. You have complete flexibility regarding access to the hotel. My dog (a Border Collie) slept in the car as he normally does when away from home. I exercised him in the extensive garden morning and evening. Excellent evening meals are available at The Sun Inn, 10 minutes walk down the road.
The photo is of Little Court and walking on the Iron Age fort, Maiden Castle
This was an enjoyable visit.
The host, Amanda, was very kind and welcoming, showing us to our room and explaiing the faiclities on offer (including an outdor pool and tennis courts). The room was very clean with an incredibly comfy bed. The breakfast choices were good, with my choice of Full English being absolutely perfectly cooked an presented. The local pubs are a short walk away and, I'm told, Dorchester is only a 30 minute walk which, on a summers day, would make this an ideal base for exploration.
Communication with the hotel was fabulous and the owner, Amanda, was super friendly. The pool was covered over (it was October) but we were told we could use it if we liked. The breakfast was a la carte with options like full English, veggie English, avocado on toast etc. The room was cosy and quite spacious with good tea and coffee facilities and plenty of biscuits.
Very quiet location...the innkeeper was wonderful to us...we had need of a fan and she responded quickly...just a short drive into Dorchester which was a fun city...a GREAT pub the "Sun Inn" was just a short drive down the road and had wonderful food if you were time constrained...Great breakfast!!
Lovely old building. Warm, friendly, helpful owners. Very clean, comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. The Sun Inn just down the main road is a fantastic pub restaurant. Easy walking distance to Dorchester. The outdoor pool area looks like it would be lovely in the summer!
Beautiful, quiet and relaxing property with well maintained garden and convenient swimming pool. Located close to all Dorchester attractions and with easy access to nearby beaches. Nice breakfast!
Hotel location and interior, hospitality and nice personnel, delicious English porridge for breakfast, swimming pool nice and extensive garden area, closeness to the Tank Museum at Bovington.
