I recently stayed at Highermead House for just one day, but it was such a wonderful experience! The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was also ideal, making it easy to explore the area. I only wish we could have stayed longer—thank you for a fantastic experience!

"I had a wonderful stay at Bowood Park Hotel during a short holiday. The property offers stunning views of the North Cornwall countryside, providing a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, making it easy to relax. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding a warm touch to the experience. The food quality was excellent, with a variety of delicious options to enjoy. Additionally, the hotel's location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions, like Port Isaac and Tintagel.

The hotel is lovely but a little tired and in fact is being closed immediately after our stay for a complete refurbishment. There were some hairs on the bathroom floor but the staff promptly cleaned them. Amy who served our dinner was really lovely perfect balence of attention and friendly chat. Will definitely come back to see the refurbished hotel

Camelford itself I'd say was ok, but it's location in relation to places like tintagel, Bude, port Isaac and Padstow is second to none, not to mention the countless little bays and beaches on the north coast it's a great base spot with all a short drive away.

It was clean, comfy, with everything we could need in a peaceful green location. Breakfast available if you wanted, welcoming touches such as mini bottle of local milk, books available and a proper door to the clean and well appointed shower room/toilet. Everything was in working order.

Camelford was a nice place and there was a lovely walk in the park along by a river and it was near to the places we wanted to go to which were Tintagel, Port Issac and Bos castle and we had some very nice meals out as well. I would definitely stay there again as it was so relaxing.

Went with my 2 children , age 6 and 10 and my partner.
Hosts were lovely. Grounds were too and the children loved the horses.
The property was located centrally which was good.
The cottage was cozy and clean.
The children’s beds were fine , but the adults double bed was standard.
My partner is 6ft 2, I am 5ft 7.
We couldn’t turn over without waking up .
We had sore backs and no sleep for 2 nights so we decided to leave and checked out at tea time on the 3rd day after the second night.
We told the host and also asked for a partial refund because we didn’t stay the 4 nights as paid.
The host wouldn’t partial refund although being honest and open about the bed, tiredness annd back pain and also with having to cut the holiday short by 2 nights.
We had a 5 hours drive to as well.
I’ve been honest and that’s my experience.
Book if you are ok with a standard double bed for 2 adults.
Apart from the bed , it was nice.

Most of our time was spent outside of Camelford.
Most of our time was spent outside of Camelford. We started with Tintagel and in other days went to Boscastle and to Bude. We did walk around Camelford. There is a very nice yarn store which sells knitting needles and other re-usable supplies in addition to yarn.
With regard to 6. below, I can't say anything about golf as none of our party plays it.

Mayrose Cottage is a perfect retreat hidden away in a peaceful spot in the North Cornwall countryside, yet within easy reach of the coast. Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac, Rock & Padstow are all within easy reach. Trebarwith Strand is a lovely golden dog friendly beach. And a great spot for watching sunsets too.

Location was perfect for Tintagel, Port Isaac and Polzeath. Beautifully quiet but not too remote (we were able to order a takeaway for delivery from Camelford).
Having two bathrooms was amazing and the showers were wonderful - hot and high pressure. Lots of little bonus things left for us - tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets etc
The beds were really comfortable.
It was amazing to have electric chargers on site which meant I could bring my EV. Quick to charge and an easy to use app.
The property had a washing machine, dishwasher, iron and board, hairdryer, clothes airer and vacuum cleaner which I didn't really expect! You definitely need a car if staying here and we found it was a good base to visit most of Cornwall. Wendy was very helpful with my queries and sent out the maintenance guy the following day to replace the broken light bulbs after I reported it. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at this property.
Everything, from the warm welcome, the host Kevin couldn't have done enough for us and made me and my 2 children feel at right at home. Set up a table for us to enjoy our fish and chips, from the award winning chippy down the road. Parking just around the back of property. A great base to explore Cornwall. The rooms were lovely and cosy, the girls absolutely loved having bunk beds. My bed was extremely comfy. I slept like a log.
The apartment is lovely ,beautiful views from the lovely enclosed garden, very comfortable bed and very well equipped. The hosts are great and very friendly but didn’t intrude on your privacy, overall a brilliant place to explore that part of Cornwall.
The house was perfect for our stay. All the bedrooms were a lovely size with plenty of storage. The kitchen was well equipped. The house was in an excellent location for exploring Cornwall.
