The Devonshire Fell Hotel, hotel in Burnsall

Located in the pretty village of Burnsall, The Devonshire Fell Hotel lies on the edge of the Bolton Abbey Estate, nestled among rolling hills, country lanes and dry stone walls.

The staff were a delight- welcoming, friendly and professional. Our room was small but perfectly formed and super clean with a very comfortable bed. The food was excellent and my lactose intolerance was managed discretely.

Tennant Arms Hotel, hotel in Burnsall

Around 11 miles north of Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales, the Tennant Arms Hotel in Kilnsey offers well-appointed rooms and a cosy restaurant and bar.

The 2 ladies that seemed to carry out most of the public tasks were brilliant, always happy and smiling and willing to help when they were required. The evening meals were good and perfectly cooked and after returning to the bar we were able to get drinks and sit and relax until 10ish. The breakfast was excellent, the 'full english' was huge and set us up for the day. However there was not much of a selection of cereal and no fruit or bread rolls etc as found in some hotels

The Devonshire Grassington, hotel in Burnsall

Located in Grassington and with Ripley Castle reachable within 34 km, The Devonshire Grassington provides a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar.

when we arrived we were met by a lovely lad behind the bar who checked us in and showed us to our room, the room was spotless clean quite a small room for a suite so was glad didn’t go for a standard room..we booked to have a meal in restaurant unfortunately i was feeling very unwell so didn’t eat mine but my wife loved hers..we then went up to bed around 9.30pm but unfortunately could not get to sleep due to the music downstairs in the pub it was very loud and this went on until after 12 so not great..the bed was not the most comfy either and think the mattress either needs upgrading felt quite cheap..felt super tired in the morning due to a restless night then went down for breakfast was a good breakfast but not very hot by any means..the restaurant staff were great very polite and helpful and the bar staff were so lovely engaging in to conversation with us even though they were incredibly busy…the ales and lagers are vast you won’t struggle to choose a drink there is a very wide choice even soft drinks..just wish we could of got a good nights sleep..so if your planning on going on sat night please bare in mind they maybe a dj on until late if you want a relatively early night because you will struggle to get to sleep before 12 at night

The Clarendon Country Pub with rooms, hotel in Burnsall

The Clarendon Hotel is a 300-year-old inn set in Hebden, just 2 miles from Grassington. The property is 40 km from Leeds and 29 km from Harrogate.

Absolutely a gem of a location and a great place to stay. Brilliant value for money. Lovely fire in the snug area and spend a few hours relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. Josh, the barman is a nice guy, but all of the staff are super friendly and helpful. All staff go above and beyond to make you welcome, and they really care for their guests, making sure you have everything they need. The lady doing the breakfast service was really attentive and caring. Food is fantastic with large servings and only suggestion I can offer is to have a few more traditional pub type meals on the menu and a few less upmarket ones but we still had a great meal. Will definitely be back.

A delightful, picturesque little village with walks along the river to either Grassington or Appletreewick. There is a large car park which probably gets very busy in the holiday season. Although there are limited facilities in the village itself, it is a great centre to explore the surrounding countryside. The Red Lion, in the centre of the village, serves drinks, bar meals and has a formal restaurant for evening meals, which I can recommend highly.

Beautiful little village by the river with a good pub and outdoor terrace alongside the water. Only 10/15 minutes from so many good places....Grassington, Linton, Appletreewick, Bolton Abbey so a good base.

Do not stay in an annex room as these have not been updated.

Do not stay in an annex room as these have not been updated. I was told that the rest of the hotel had been but did not see any other room. I would not recommend the food as our took 1-1/2 hours (burger and fish and chips) We were forgotten about and told that it was a very busy night. Food was inedible. Staff didn't really seem to be bothered that we waited. When I complained the next day to the manager I was told Chef had accident in kitchen so everything was behind. Too little too late. Our room was not cleaned and again told new staff who were in training.

Burnsall is a very pretty village on the river Wharfe.

Burnsall is a very pretty village on the river Wharfe. Hours can be spent just relaxing watching the weather move over the landscape. There is a good dog friendly pub and there are cafes. Parking can be an issue unless you park on the grass by the river which is charged at a reasonable rate. There are plenty of walks in the area. It is easy to walk into the Bolton Abbey estate and also to Grassington. Wifi in the area is pretty good for somewhere so rural.

The Yorkshire Dales are stunning and we did not have enough time to explore properly. Fantastic area for a walking holiday but not in 30 degree heat!! We will be back to visit more places when it is cooler. Burnsall itself is a charming, picture postcard village with a great hotel, tearooms and a pub. Oh, and a river.

    Burnsall is a pretty

Burnsall is a pretty Dales village, with loads of walks and a bus service. The river is great for children to play in. There is a field to park in with toilets on it but the owner charges the rather extortionate price of £8 for the privilege. I had all I needed at the Red Lion but the cafe and ice cream shop looked lovely.

Charming hotel and pub in a beautiful location. We stayed one night in a double in the pub, the room was lovely and the bed was kingsize. We had dinner which was excellent. It’s an old property but everything was clean and cared for. The Dales Way passes right beside the pub and is a lovely, easy walk. Staff were all polite and helpful and they kindly let us leave our car in their car park after we checked out whilst we went walking.

The location is excellent as it has a great view of the river and the fells. One can take a walk and enjoy these sights. There is a lovely tea room off hotel property you can go to should you wish. The room we had was cozy and warm, very comfortable bed. The restaurant was lovely and the food was very good. There is also a lounge you can stay in and play board games or just keep warm. Parking was adequate and free.

I thought the Breakfast was really good value for money and delicious. I loved the full English breakfast and choice. The room was very spacious and very comfortable. Views from the top floor annex was across the fell. The views from the front of the hotel were spectacular across the dales and valley.

This is a truly magical place. The setting is paradise. You sense the history of this 16th century pub while also appreciating the attention to details and refurbishments that are happening. The food is some of the best you’ll have. The staff exceptional. I can’t speak highly enough of this place.
