We stayed whilst walking the Hadrian Wall path and were made to feel welcome and "at home" as soon as we met Dianne the owner with a lovely wood fire and seating area to relax around downstairs and refreshments available.
The bedrooms were very well appointed, nicely decorated with exposed beams and modern clean bathroom.
The breakfast was exceptional, the best we enjoyed during our walk and Dianne was super helpful in explaining how to get back to the path safely which was much appreciated.
The Mews is very close to shops and a chemist, a local pub "Howard Arms" provided a good evening meal.

Very welcoming hosts of a traditional period farmhouse B&B set in a rural location. Ideally located for visiting Hadrian’s wall and the local area. Had a very comfortable peaceful night’s sleep and an excellent hearty breakfast. The host very kindly booked us in the local pub which was a short walk away down the hill. Easy to find just look for the pink house!

Low Nook is lovely and the cottage is interesting. The gardens around the cottage are a nice place to sit in the sunshine.

Nice country town, with surprisingly good shopping, including three antique shops, an excellent and very competitively priced vintage clothes shop (Fripperies?), and a food hall showcasing local produce, plus a farm shop with great veg available.

Nice friendly b n b the village itself is about 3.5 miles away with plenty amenities for a weekend trip and Hadrians wall is close by, if you want to do a circular hike do some research before you go as we feel they’re harder to find but there is plenty history surrounding the wall to be found in this area so worth a trip for that reason alone.

We didn’t have time to fully explore Brampton but we did visit a very good food hall and there was a very popular street market on Saturday. There are also plenty of nice walks in the surrounding countryside and it’s not far from Carlisle and Hadrians Wall.
Although it’s a few miles from Brampton we would recommend the Duke of Cumberland in Castle Carrock for Sunday lunch.

A pleasant town but just an overnight stop for us.
A pleasant town but just an overnight stop for us.
Did not find a great number of places to eat.
If you are walking the Wall heading east, ask about the Quarry Beck. It's a lovely way to the Wall.

Brampton is a lovely town with some interesting history.
Brampton is a lovely town with some interesting history. The people there are friendly, stopping to talk to us several times during our 3 day stay. There are walks varying form 1 mile to 5 miles starting from the town, well worth the effort as the surrounding countryside is beautiful. Brampton is an excellent base for Hadrians wall, Lanercost Priory and Naworth Castle. We visited to research our Reiver ancestory and were not disappointed. We would recommend The Howard Arms and the Off the wall cafe.

We arrived at the apartment at what must have been the wettest day of the summer! What a lovely surprise it was then to find out that we were going to spend the evening & night in a lovely welcoming apartment in Brampton.
Everything was so nice and the children had their own room with a TV on the wall to watch TV whilst my son and myself prepared dinner.
Sadly the weather put paid to any evening plans that we had so we all snuggled down to watch some family films with the TV system in the lounge.
Basically the apartment was wonderful. Both bedrooms were en-suite and the boys loved their single beds. My son and myself shared the main bedroom but the bed was big enough for the both of us to sleep in and not disturb each other.
The kitchen was well laid out and everything worked, the cupboards and utensils were clean and everything was well laid out and accessible.
The apartment was warm enough so that we did not need any heating on (surprisingly due to the weather).
We would throughly recommend this apartment for a couple or small family. Brampton looked a nice place and we feel that we would like to return again another time for a longer stay to explore the area in a bit more depth.
What an amazing place!! The owners had thought of everything and made us feel so welcome. We absolutely loved it! The accommodation has been beautifully laid out and we had everything we needed. The owners provided really clear instructions for parking and getting to the property and also how to use the facilities. Brampton itself is a wonderful town and there were so many lovely local walks. We used the location as a base to explore Hadrians wall.
The cottages are a home from home. Clean & Tidy. No noise. Large car park area. Dog friendly. Great base to organize walks & trips. Brampton is 10mins away by car which has shops, local butchers, Pubs etc. Sam & Helena are really nice people. There was a welcome pack of coffee, tea & biscuits and milk in the fridge when we arrived which is always a bonus after a long journey. Would definitely book again.
I liked that it was a whole house, it was decorated well and had all that we needed for our stay. The courtyard is really cute too. Brampton itself was a lovely town too - I expected to hear traffic noise in the morning as the house is in the middle of town, but it was really quiet. I really liked the church bells too - a really relaxing break.
Excellent helpful welcoming staff
Wonderful restful ambiance. Views from the room were amazing. Grounds and buildings were meticulously maintained
Best and SAFEST shower we had on our 3 week+ trip
We enjoyed walking twice to the nearby Farlam church and cemetary
Hotel was close to Hadrian's Wall which we enjoyed thoroughly on our last day
All meals worthy of the two rosettes awarded. Hotel and gardens beautiful, rooms clean, comfortable and quiet, impressive attention to detail, staff professional and friendly. Here the customer was considered king and the focus was clearly on quality and definitely warranted the cost of the stay.
Beautifully furnished, comfortable rooms. Comfy beds. Perfectly quiet despite being above a lively pub. Located right in the middle of Brampton, but with convenient parking. Great location for exploring Hadrian's Wall. Delicious food in the pub and excellent breakfast. Dickens slept here!
Food and meals were of exceptional quality, afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast.
Staff were all very helpful and cheerful.
The refurbishment of the entire hotel under the new owners has taken the experience to a new level, truly justifying Relais and Chateaux status.
Excellent location right in the centre of Brampton. Fabulous welcome and lots of space to warm our wet cycling shoes by the wood burner in the lounge. Really impressed by the honesty bar - such a relaxed, friendly way to finish the evening.
Absolutely amazing place...beautiful room and Carol was lovely and nothing was a problem . One of the best places we have stayed in Cumbria 6 stairs and 11 out of 10! So clean for an older hotel ...breakfast was unbelievable lovely!
Fantastic breakfast and with free parking. We had just been to Hadrian's Wall so it was a great location. The family running the hotel, bar and restaurant were very welcoming!
