We were just looking for a stop off point on our way home but we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again. The upstairs lounge with washing machine, extra coffee, and a place to eat a takeaway if you wanted was really good idea.

Blandford Forum town centre is needing a bit of TLC like many English towns now.
Too many charity shops which is a sad reflection of local council management.
Wonderful town walk down to the river Stour though.
A few interesting restaurants would be an added attraction for all generations, as well.

Winterborne Houghton which is actually the village we stayed in. Blandford Forum is a 15 minute drive away. Houghton is a very pretty village with lovely gardens and houses. Lots of thatched properties. There is a fish farm which sells delicious fresh trout and Arctic charr. There is a pub which was very nice but we didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on the food. We walked to the pub, about a mile. Very friendly people.

It's a lovely town with a great museum, scenic river walks and nice cafes, restaurants and bars.
One thing to be aware of is that public transport is limited at weekends. There are no bus services to Shaftesbury or Salisbury or Yeovil on Saturdays and Sundays.

I am relocating back to Blandford (thru personal choice) so it can’t be too bad !
Few empty shops which is a shame, could do with a bit of upgrading of shops and facilities and I thought a cinema was in the pipeline, but no show yet!

The village of Kingston Zelston is very quiet and pretty, we were lucky enough to see a pair of geese by the river there with goslings. Although I didn't go into the church the outside is well kept looks as if it is well used.
We had a fantastic day at Monkey World and also an extremely enjoyable afternoon at Keyneston Mill Botanical Gardens & Bistro. Many other places of interest to visit, but sadly time didn't allow us to fit them in.
We will return there in the future.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay and would have been happy to extend it given the opportunity. The room was clean spacious and comfortable and given that they are built around the courtyard it felt as if we had our own patio outside.
All the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming and the food was well presented and delicious. The location in a peaceful country hamlet between Blandford and Wimbourne was perfect for a relaxing break and very dog friendly. An absolute gem.
This was a very nice apartment right in the heart of Blandford Forum. The beds were comfortable, as was the sitting room which had a lot of charm. The kitchen was small but perfectly functional and the bathroom had a good shower. It was a short walk to the main street and the neighbourhood was full of character. One of the neighbours had a friendly cat which I delighted in cuddling. There were supermarkets and a range of other shops all within easy walking distance.
This booking was made to facilitate the attendance at a funeral in Poole, while also enabling a visit to friends living in Blandford. The overnight at Saxon Inn worked extremely well after long motoring mileage on Friday and Saturday and I was able to enjoy a very restful night and excellent breakfast, which refreshed me for the 255 mile journey home to Shropshire.
Complimentary drink on arrival. The quality of food was excellent and the breakfasts were huge. A lovely touch was to be offered a bottle of tap water with our meal.
The staff were very attentive, chatty and helpful.
This hotel was above our expectations in many respects. We had a wonderful time.
Beautiful location; an oasis of calm but also very accessible to Blandford Forum.
Fantastic traditional farmhouse providing every comfort.
Andrea is a super host, very friendly and offered a wonderful breakfast in a very comfortable setting.
Highly recommend and will definitely plan to return.
A thoroughly contemporary renovation with high quality fittings and conveniences. Powerful wi-fi and a smart TV. Location is central and super close to shops, cafes and pubs. Blandford Forum a very good location for exploring surrounding countryside. Very good value for money.
A very cosy and home from home type property! All staff were friendly and welcoming! Our room was spotless with nice touches. Breakfast was delicious! Would highly recommend staying here and it’s a perfect stop off point if you’re passing through Blandford!
This is a slightly old-fashioned hotel and I mean that as a compliment, not a criticism. It reflects the history and the character of the town in which it sits. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food was good and occasionally very good indeed.
Lovely accommodation, was ideal for spending time with my son who is based at Blandford Camp. Everything you would need, with extra touches that were appreciated such a washing pods, an airer to dry clothes, lots of socket spaces, etc.
We had a really enjoyable stay - large room, clean and comfortable and we felt relaxed and welcome. Thanks, Tanya and John - we will certainly hope to stay with you again if we ever visit Blandford Forum again!
the hotel is simply great, rooms are very roomy, clean and comfortable. The staff are very nice and helpful. hotel is situated next to all the facilities you need
I must like it as I’ve stayed over 15 times
