Bluebells guest house, hotel in Barmouth

Located on the beachfront in Barmouth and featuring a terrace, Bluebells guest house has free WiFi throughout the property. All units in the guest house are equipped with a kettle.

I travelled to Barmouth by train. 'Bluebells' is only a few minutes walk from the station. It is also only a minute further to the local Co-op supermarket (for provisions for the day). The bus stop for travel to Dolgellau and Harlech is also close by. There is car parking opposite if you arrive by car. The beach too is opposite; just cross the road and you're on it. The guest house has rooms with excellent sea and mountain views. Breakfasts come with meat, vegetarian and vegan options and a choice of sizes. The cooked part of the breakfast is served in a timely fashion. The owners are a pleasant couple. The guest house is clean with a good state of interior decoration. Room cost is competitive.

Most guest houses seem to be on the seafront.

Most guest houses seem to be on the seafront. The views from there are excellent. A half mile walk takes you across the railway viaduct where the view towards Dolgellau along Avon Mawddach is one of the best in Britain. To access the land on the far side of the Mawddach is best on foot, because by car it is necessary to drive either ten miles into Dolgellau or use the toll bridge at Penmaenpool, which saves only a couple of miles. The hills behind Barmouth have excellent views but involve a very steep climb. The best route up is to follow the signs to the National Trust's Dinas Oleu property. Other than that, the great attraction for Barmouth is the hill walking. All of what I've said here does depend on good visibility. Being Wales, rain and low cloud are not uncommon, but that is hardly Barmouth's fault!

We've visited the last 40 odd years....a lovely seaside town with the added bonus of spectacular scenery. The Mawddach Estuary and Bridge make it for us but equally when the kids were young there was the beautiful beach and places to go crabbing. We used to cycle along the old Mawddach railway track with them in their seats on the back. Wonderful walks, lots to do and explore.

Barmouth is a lovely seaside town in Wales.

Barmouth is a lovely seaside town in Wales. It is not overcrowded with activities which means it has kept some of its charm but there is plenty to do. There is a nice beach, a small funfair, a couple of amusements, donkey rides and plenty of lovely places to eat. The harbour is worth a visit and a lot of people enjoy fishing for crabs off the pier. We took a beautiful ferry ride one morning over to Fairbourne and caught a small steam train along the peninsula taking in the sprawling estuary on which Barmouth sits and it is sandwiched between the Snowdonia mountain range. A beautiful view of sea and mountains.

I booked here not knowing what to expect, but thinking it could be some sleepy little fishing town with not much on. But its proximity to the mountains - we came to walk Cader Idris - coupled with the fact that there was a beach was appealing to us. When we arrived we found a clean, well-maintained town with plenty of options for food and drink, a decent selection of shops - which were thankfully not all tat-filled giftshops, a lovely beach with arcades and a small selection of rides for children. If you are looking for somewhere to stay that isn't too heaving so that you can relax, unwind in nature, visit the beach, or take in some of the walks, I would recommend a visit.

Beach is beautiful and lots to do with the high street, fun fair and arcade. Lots of places to eat and drink and plenty of places to sit down and enjoy the views. I think no more than a couple of days is about the right amount of time to explore. Plenty of places to park and train station is right in the heart of Barmouth.

On arrival we got free parking outside and had lots of spaces, Paul met us on arrival and explained everything perfectly and we got into our rooms. The rooms were big and spacious. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! Great start to the day! The hotel is really central to everything around and we did a lovely walk to Fairbourne. Never been to Barmouth before and had a wonderful time. Hotel was also extremely clean! A big bonus was we could watch Netflix through the TVs! Massive thank you to the team at Leamington!

The Tilman is a lovely place to stay, perfectly located in the heart of Barmouth. The staff were exceptional - extremely friendly, generous and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they looked after us so well during our stay. Huge thanks to Nadine, Nicola and Oonagh! It is, as they say, the people that make all the difference. Our room was very spacious and had everything you could want - including a view of the estuary! We couldn't have asked for anything more. The hotel parking facility is also very helpful.

Wonderful property with a great location, close to town centre and beach. The property has everything you need and more, hot tub, dishwasher and comfy beds. Would definitely stay again and the location and accommodation is excellent. Sam the owner is really helpful too. Shame about the weather as it was a bit rainy but we got a few nice days and the hot tub made up for it. Thank you

We had an extremely comfortable stay with a seaside view. Our seven year old enjoyed the daily jokes by the host. The rooms were very well equipped, along with pointers to some great restaurants. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of options. The host updated us on the daily activities in town which was a great help. Overall a very lovely stay. Would highly recommend.

We stayed for 3 nights mid October, it was right on the beach and central to all amenities for adults and children. If we went to Barmouth again we would go back to Môr Wyn. The hotel was at the end of the parking zone so we were able to park for free at side of hotel, although I guess it you went in middle of holiday season you would find it harder to find a space.

Will we visit again most certainly a big yes. Barmouth is full of restaurants to suit all tastes and the Last Inn serves excellent food.

This was our second stay at Hawen and it didn't disappoint. The apartment is equipped with everything that you need for a comfortable stay and if we go back to Barmouth and it's available, this would be our first choice. Off-road parking at the garage is a bonus with limited parking in the local street.

breakfast was very good a great selection to suit anyone. The location was a lot further out of the town than I expected, too far to walk if you have any health/walking issues. The hotel is lovely, the host Mandie is very wellcoming and full of life. We would stay there again when visiting Barmouth.
