Felbrigg Lodge, hotel in Aylmerton

In a beautiful woodland location, the recently refurbished Felbrigg Lodge hotel is situated in an idyllic romantic setting on the north Norfolk coast.

Absolutely loved the facilities. The hot tub was great and the time slots for individual use of the pool. It was so quiet and peaceful there, you could really relax. The bed was very comfortable and a lovely bath.

The Pheasant Hotel, Holt, Norfolk, hotel in Aylmerton

Situated in 2 acres of landscaped gardens, this Georgian country house hotel offers bright, airy rooms in a peaceful setting. Fresh local produce is served in the hotel restaurant.

Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. My wife was particularly fond of the homemade vegan sausages. Diner was also very good. The bar was well stocked and there was a separate lounge area if you wanted some peace and quiet. As birdwatchers, its location served us perfectly as it is within a few minutes drive of Cley marshes. The staff were exceptionally friendly. We hope to go back before the end of the year.

Aylmerton is one and a half miles south of Sheringham. It is quiet, and a very small village on the main road from Sheringham to Cromer. It was a perfect place to stay if you had a car. Impossible without transport. It enabled us to have the seaside holiday we wanted for the family- 10 minutes from home to beach, without the bustle of the seaside. Complete peace in the evening and overnight.

A good location for the Norfolk Coast to several different beaches. There are several very good seafood restaurants in the area. No 1 upstairs in Cromer does super fish and golden crispy chips with Seaview seating. A lovely restaurant called Sands in Wells next to sea superb seafood overlooking the harbour.

We stayed in a lovely little chalet which had its own hot tub outside. There are five chalets in all and two of them at the time of writing have hot tubs. The chalets are set among trees and there is a beautiful National Trust property near by, Felbrigg Hall, where you can go for walks. The hotel is also near to Cromer and the coast. The dinner, which we had twice, was excellent. The owner, who is very hands-on, is friendly and the wine is very reasonably priced.

Food was good, felt like a clamping site. Not a country manor hotel that I was led to believe I had booked.
