The hospitality of our hosts was splendid. They are very kind people who’d like to make your stay as pleasant as possible. They gave us some good pointers for places to visit.
Breakfast was fantastic. Casey’s poached egg is wonderful.

As I was riding a motorcycle it was a secure place to stay, greated by a friendly chap who made me feel quite welcome. Could easily fitted a group of five in what I guess was a converted barn. Local pub was great for food, no frills but good home cooked food. Anyone riding the UK TET well worth a stay.

It is a quiet town very convenient for visiting Winchester, Salisbury, the New Forest, Newbury, Whitchurch and Southampton. Anton Lakes local Natural Reserve gives a good opportunity to relax sitting on a bench and watching wildlife birds. Don't forget to visit the local Iron Age history museum and beautiful St.Mary's church.

A quiet town, without much to see.
A quiet town, without much to see. The Anton River canal near the old mill and the Anton lakes are the only places worth visiting, the river has ducks and swans as well. The town has supermarkets, and a train station and the distances are relatively easy to walk, even with luggage.

We visited Andover as were were going to the BSB round at Thruxton. There are lots of place to eat in Andover we opted for an Indian called Chilies, it was empty so were a bit worried but it is one of the best curries we have had in a while. Staff very polite and attentive. Can thoroughly recommend it.
The hotel, Jack Russell Fox, which is a Wetherspoons pub chain was excellent. Staff and food were what you would expect. The rooms were clean and perfectly adequate.

Andover has plenty of shops to visit and all close.
Andover has plenty of shops to visit and all close. You can get into Basingstoke or out into the country easily. It is good distance from Overton, Bombay Sapphie worth a visit, and Thruxton if you are going top the racing.
The room was lovely ,clean and comfortable. All staff were excellent. Lovely to be able to open a window to get some fresh air, also a window on a corridor was open allowing fresh air to circulate in the corridors. This is important to me as I no longer stay in some chain hotels wher you cannot open a window. Air from an air conditioning unit, is not fresh air, even though they try to tell you it is. Its a real plus to still have this in Wetherspoons hotels.
It was a self check in and the property were very prompt to assist us with all the queries. The location is at the heart of Andover and there are many restaurants & bars around. With a large pedestrian shopping street. Paid parking is also nearby. We stayed here because of our trip to the Peppa Pig park , and we loved our stay. Would repeat without hesitation.
The Jack Russell is a lovely country pub/hotel set in a beautiful location. The rooms are large and well equipped, staff were amazing, and everything is extremely dog-friendly (a very important point for us). Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with a great choice of options, many of them sourced from local produce. Overall a very pleasant stay.
Really friendly and helpful staff. My stay was due to a funeral in Andover. The staff were very understanding and allowed me to check in early in order to change after my journey. They even asked how it went when I arrived back that evening. The girl behind the bar was just so nice.
Staff were friendly, breakfast nice, bed comfortable. Evening meal reasonable but for £12 as a main you don't expect too much and it was tasty. Good price compared to the other hotels in the area, and I just needed a bed for the night and was not looking for anything else.
I've stayed at the Hawk inn each Monday for the past 3 weeks and I intend to keep booking as I believe I have found a little gem. Stephan and staff are great and are always happy, I can not recommend this hotel enough.
Great location, really comfortable bed, lots of space, and the room was clean and airy with lots of character... so much nicer than staying in a hotel! A tasty breakfast with locally sourced products.
The breakfast was very good and of the same standard that is found in most hotels. The room was of adequate size and the bed was comfortable. the hotel was nicely located in the centre of Andover.
I like the fact that the hotel was secluded and quite. The room was clean.
The staff were very polite and helpful.
Would definitely visit again.
The town of Andover was super cute and friendly.
What a great hotel, so much better than a hotel chain. Staff were lovely but especially young Cory who was very hard working and entertaining. Rooms were lovely, we will come back.
Great value room in the heart of Andover town and perfect for our meet up with family. Clean, and everything you would expect from a quality hotel, would definitely use again.
THE LOCATION WAS JUST RIGHT FOR US. SORRY DID NOT SEE HARRIET TO SAY GOODBYE AND THANKS. IF COMING TO ANDOVER AGAIN WELL BE HAPPY TO STAY AGAIN. THANKS FROM THE 3 OF US. RAY
The price, the location, the staff, could not have found a better place to stay, after years of traveling to this part of Hampshire this is the best hotel we have stayed at.
Very charming historic building, with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located in the heart of the town, the hotel’s bar is quite cool too.
