The location was very peaceful, the owner very welcoming and lovely.
The accommodation had everything you would ever need and was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.
I would recommend staying at La Grange.

Unusual house with an eclectic collection of artifacts; charm and interesting detail wherever you looked. A real novelty that it is an old house partly built into the rock, hence "semitroglodyte". The house is very full and a bit marmite in that you'll love that or hate it - but it has amazing character. Very well equipped. Like us you need to like cats as are there are several around! Located in the heart of the Loire wine and chateaux country. 10 mins drive from Amboise.
Staying in a chateau-hotel like this one has to be experienced at least once in a lifetime. This property looks very much like the chateaux you visit on the Loire Valley and the chateau estate is possibly much better than most of them, with an impressive tomato garden, caves and a very large web of alleys to walk on the estate. The hotel staff is very courteous, they arranged a reservation to dinner for us on the village nearby since we called too late for reserving dinner at the chateau.
James and his wife were fantastic hosts, very helpful in giving my husband and I advice on what to visit in the area and making reservations, and they even dropped us off at dinner one night! Furnishings were to a very high hotel standard, the A/C was a godsend, and the breakfast was delish and inspiring! Homemade yoghurt, homemade jam, croissants from the local boulangerie and freshly squeezed orange juice. We had the best stay!
Lovely friendly family run hotel, nice rooms, lovely garden. Most of the food was either home made or locally sourced, including freshly squeezed orange juice and home made yogurt for breakfast. As the local restaurants were closed, we were offered a simple but excellent supper menu with local wine. Delicious and good value.
Great place for either a stopover or longer break on the Loire. Highly recommend, we will return.
nevermind the hotel itself ( that is beautifull btw) , the owner as I arrived offered : to keep my purchased wines in his cellar\booked me dinner\ booked me a museum which I couldn't book on my own due to a card problem...
this is not something you should come to expect at all but when it happens you just say thank you and hope to find more guys like this in the future.

The property was breathtaking from the moment you drove through the front gate to the front door.  we had one dinner at the hotel, which was very good. We also enjoyed their breakfast for both mornings and we’re completely happy. From here we were also able to visit two additional Château’s open to the public, they were both beautiful would definitely return to this property.
Super big and cosy house with huge terrace and beautiful huge garden, perfectly isolated from the outside world. Rooms are very spacious, both cosy and in the style, clean, modern and cosy. Quite and spacious and not empty. There were other guests in the hotel, but we almost did no see them as hotel is super spacious and they try to keep number of guests reasonable.
Immaculately clean everywhere, including the large en suite bathroom, friendly staff, lovely food in restaurant. Easy free parking at rear of hotel. Great location for exploring Loire area, especially for cyclists, as the 'Loire à Vélo' route runs close by and there is a covered area for bikes.
We cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Our hosts, James and Celine, were incredibly kind and helpful. James even drove us back to Hertz after we had a problem with our car hire. They were absolutely wonderful and made our time in the Loire Valley even more memorable. Highly recommend.
Unfortunately the restaurant was not open when we stayed. The breakfast was however very good as was the ambiance at breakfast. all rooms were on the first floor - long staircase no lift - some confusion between Booking.com and Hotel about our not being informed of this
