I felt I’d fallen on my feet as everything was great. I’d had to book at short notice in half term week close to a remote hamlet to attend my cousin’s funeral.

We booked this hotel for an overnight stop as wanted to visit Martel and liked the look of the outside area. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for reasons beyond their control but this wasn't a problem as the hotel is minutes from the town and a big choice of restaurants. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was great and good value (good variety of bread and pastries). Tea and coffee freely available to make a drink in our room. Our room was basic (as you would expect for a 2 star hotel) but bathroom and shower great. Great location a few minutes walk to a beautiful town. Parking easy.

Breakfast was very good, plenty to choose from. Dinner in the garden on both evenings was excellent, such huge portions ! My husband called the chef Ding -Ding as she rang the bell so loudly for service !! She was great fun. Definitely would stay again.

Martel was the perfect spot to visit the Dordogne Valley.
Martel was the perfect spot to visit the Dordogne Valley. It combines beauty with services such as supermarket, local markets, the best bakery in the lot!, night entertainment… it small, picturesque, charming but still practical and vibrant on some evenings or market days.

A great village to discover and it always seemed active with shoppers and diners. We only stayed two nights but it would make a perfect location for a week or more to explore the area. Parking was easy, the main square was lively and there were several good restaurants. There is a lot to see and do in the area.

Excellent host at Le Petit Moulin (the plave to stay). Even at fall with foggy and rainy weather the village makes a very strong impression as you walk through its cobbled streets with amazing houses on each side. Dawn and dusk walks are highly recommended. Even better after winter, spring...

Great place to explore the Area from, just far enough from the crowds and just far enough to the crowds and within striking distance of Rocamadour, where we love to visit as much as possible, now having found this tiny village cut into the Hillside, with it's own Noddy Train Service, this is truly the Jewel in the Crown.
Also a real must outing and only a short hop is Dome, where we always visit for the view and walkabout and of course the Noddy Train. We always have lunch on the Main Square and for 19.95euro a 3 course excellent Lunch served is served 12:00 - 2:00pm each day.

Martel is a very tidy town, with great architecture, well-kept shops, a pleasant market, good restaurants and a terrific bakery. Saveur des Halles is a very pleasant restaurant with the best meals in town.
Fantastic B&B with a lovely restaurant. Super clean room, massive sofa bed, great big bathroom and an upstairs mezzanine. It was perfect for a family of 4. Simple french breakfast. We had dinner in the restaurant, lovely kids menu, great seasonal dishes and local wines. Martel is a charming town, it provided a great stop on the way back to the UK from the south of France.
The Chateau was beautiful. Rooms elegant and spacious. Lovely restaurant a walking distance booked for us by our hosts. Visit Martel a beautiful Medieval town a few miles from the Chateau. This Chateau encompasses so many things I love about France the centuries roll back but there a good bathrooms and the internet speed is 600.
The medieval centre of Martel is a short walk away and includes some excellent restaurants (the hotel's restaurant was closed during our stay). The room was clean, comfortable, quiet and with a superb view on the well tended garden and idyllic countryside beyond. A few parking places are available just outside the door.
The room was a good size and had all we needed. Contact points including the bathroom. Also mirrors. The best was having really good lighting in the bedroom which seems to be unusual for a lot of hotels. Bathroom good, towels and bedding changed twice during our 8 day stay. Staff were friendly and nice.
A two star hotel with a good pool, lovely garden and a good restaurant? that’s what this place is. It really deserves more than 2 stars. The rooms are also very nice and with a lot of personality and comfortable beds. Also, it’s right next door to the departure of 2 canoe renting services.
We loved the vibe of the house and all the facilities to accommodate the large group of people we were. It was also located in the centre of Martel next to the market, restaurants and other live entertainment.
The hotel has a super good view, breakfast, and dinner were on a high level. There is also swimming, which is also quite good. I had the most amazing punch at the bar of the restaurant, highly recommended.
The room had a great big, comfy bed, a big rain shower, as well as a kettle with a selection of teas. It was nicely decorated.
Good location - in the historic centre of Martel.
The staff was friendly.
what a brilliant find. We used this hotel as a stopover and wished we could have stayed longer. We stayed in the junior suite so that we could have 3 rooms together and it was perfect.
