Houlgate was the nicest discovery in the Normandy region.
Houlgate was the nicest discovery in the Normandy region. It's a small town/city that is absolutely beautiful, the beach is huge so its not crowded, one can walk for kilometres. The houses are perfectly restored and preserved as in the old times, because they have been passed from one generation in the family to another....and this for the last 400 years at least. People are VERY friendly, there are nice boutiques, and you find quite a few of top-rated restaurants; and otherwise, nice creperies and simple pizzerias (for all budgets). Houlgate is a must.

we found a wonderful restaurant called L'Eden which was excellent

The apartment size was perfect, very well furnished, big terrace with nice sea view, plenty of towels, a shower room and a bathroom, 2 toilets, fully equiped kitchen, - we were very comfortable. Pool with beautiful view. Parking, spa, plenty of activities around.
Thé location was excellent. We were warmly welcomed and the facilities in the flat were very good - a very well equipped and tastefully decorated home. Everything you needed and more for a perfect stay in Houlgate.
