If you visit from Sunday to Wednesday there may be an issue with evening meals as most if not all of the restaurants are closed which is a shame. On our last visit the DonJon restaurant used to be open but sadly it has changed hands and is no longer open of an evening. The only bar that was open was a bar tabac with most of it's clientelle being gamblers. The drinks were welcome but closed at 19.00hrs! We will review our future stays here as the overall facilities are not open and a baguette does not surffice!

Beautiful town with lots of independent shops including boulangerie's and supermarkets. Only found one restaurant open on the evenings of Monday & Tuesday - DomJon Hotel which saved our bacon to coin a phrase!

A nice town in a great location, near to the Ferry Terminal (about a half-hour by car) and clean and tidy. Like all French towns there can be a severe shortage of restaurants on some nights (we stayed on a Wednesday and there was only one place open - thank goodness it was really nice and the owners was very welcoming- and with a good Chef!

The young man that greeted us was good The rest of the staff seemed tho hover all the time & seemed to not know what they were doing The food really wasn’t up to the standard that we’ve had before & the (mature de) was very rude because we wanted to pay all together at reception & we also didn’t have money on us at dinner myself & my friend were watched over like a hawk by her while our partners went to our rooms to get money & made to feel very uncomfortable It’s such a shame because we’ve stayed many times as have lots of our friends ,but I think it’s unlikely we would go back

It's a fairly small and quiet town.

It's a fairly small and quiet town. We had two good experiences in restaurants and found people friendly in shops and bars. The walking is good and pretty level as there's a disused railway. We'd like to visit again to see more.

    Cute little town. Friendly people.

Cute little town. Friendly people. Close drive to Ecausseville, Cherbourg, saint Mere Eglise and Omaha / Utah beaches. Grocery store & post office are very close. Everything is walkable. Eat at Mister Kabob and awesome pizza around the corner from the castle. Stay at the castle- best dinner you will ever have!

We always stay at the chateau in Bricquebec as it is a beautiful place and convenient for the ferry. Staff are always helpful. We always get room 10 for some reason but it's comforting to know you have a comfy room for your first night. Breakfast is excellent. Although the chateau restaurant is normall closed for evening meals, we were overjoyed to find that it was open on evening, which was all well and good because every restaurant in Bricquebec is closed - a great shame! The food that evening was exceptional.

Fabulous to stay in the environment of the castle...dining room in particular is fab. Great continental breakfast. Obviously the rooms aren't modern...but everything is clean. Would recommend no problem. Don't depend on the bar etc being open...no staff in situ in hotel except for to check in and at breakfast. That's fine..as long as you know.b

Location was perfect walkable into Bricquebec. Our room was beautiful, designer decor and exceptional comfortable and clean facilities. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was exceptional with home baked patisseries and home made jams, plus perfectly cooked eggs and hot milk for coffee on request.
