Lovely place, beautifully run as a family business. Clean, comfortable and extremely good value. Lovely idea of having a few home cooked items of food available to eat for a light supper. Thoroughly recommend
The Hôtel de Paris dates back to 1894, and is located just off the D650, a 2-minute walk from the town center and 3.8 km from the Channel Islands ferry terminal.

Very professional team. Great welcome and easy check in. Room was clean and very comfortable. Very helpful regarding our queries. Great location, right in the middle of Barneville. Stayed here a few times before and will stay again.

This is an old fashioned hotel in a great location overlooking the Carteret estuary and the long sandy beach of Barneville on the otherside. If you want the view book a harbour side room. The rooms are on the small side but comfortable and we enjoyed the double bed with a mattress that didn't wake us when either my wife or I moved. The original radiator worked a treat and the roller shutter also to keep the light out when the sun streamed into the room in the morning. Its a quiet location with plenty of parking; at least in April when we were there. One word or warning. Keep your room key if you are going out on Sunday and not returning until after 6pm; forget to do this and you'll be locked out!
The restaurant is one of the 3000 odd Maître Restauranteur designation by the French State and specialises in sea food. It gets very busy so book ahead.
Situated in the seaside resort of Barneville-Carteret, Gîtes des isles is only 150 metres from the beach. The guestrooms at Gîtes des isles are cozy and quiet and feature a private terrace.

Good restaurants although we ate dinner in the hotel and it was superb. The second night we ate elsewhere and the food was excellent there too.

La Marine was completely wonderful: the room, the balcony, the reception, the marvellous breakfast, the fantastically helpful staff - each and everyone - and the design and high quality fit out was superb. In fact I can’t praise the hotel enough; I could have stayed for much longer. The view over the estuary was delightful.

There are several restaurants and the Gare is vibrant with a range of food providers. The port of Carteret is particularly pleasant at high tide.
The beach is a safe place for young children with soft sand and a seawater 'pool' which remains even when the tide goes out.

We stayed only one night but it was enough to understand that it is place to return. Room was very clean and neat, our room was 15 m2 but was just enough for one night. Next time we book bigger room for sure. The room had nice balcony with a view to the beach. Very beautiful.
Shower had good pressure and very warm water, also clean and nice. Only a bit small.
The Hotel has nice bar and quite big restaurant. Food was fine although not too many choices. We were at winter so maybe that was a reason. Very nice people and, for my surprice, everyone talked english.
Definitely recommend to stay here

The Hotel Restaurant Les Ormes was a delight to stay in. The room was very clean and comfortable and the garden was so colourful and relaxing. We were too late to reserve dinner in the restaurant but the fact that it was fully booked is a good sign for our next visit. I have to specifically mention the lovely staff who were very helpful despite a problem with their Internet connection.
Lovely stop off for last night of holiday en route to a morning check-in at Cherbourg ferry. Pretty hotel, brilliant sea front location and oh so peaceful. Drinks on terrace looking over sea, nice dinner and sea view room. No air con or fan but open window didn't admit mosquitoes as would have happened further south.
I booked a room with a sea view and was pleased that I did. Parking was very easy opposite the hotel. Booked a table in the restaurant and was very pleased with the food. Had a great evening. Staff were very helpful.
A very welcoming hotel in a lovely seaside location. The very busy restaurant is exceptional with wonderful food particularly the fish and shellfish dishes. Worth a stay for this alone.
