I just love Hawley house, ots different not full of character and the area is very peaceful. There are so many places to go walking and running. Love the fact that it's not limited to the beautiful beach. There's so much Bush land to explore as well.
Staff are fantastic, I think it's great that dogs are allowed

Port Sorrel is a beautiful quiet township with adequate facilities, including a shopping center, cafes and takeaway food stores. The local beaches are long and gorgeous for strolls on or off the sand. Footpaths everywhere make for an easy traverse of the town. It's location is perfect for day trips throughout the north west coast and inland to the beautiful Lake Barrington and Sheffield regions. Ghost Rock Winery is on it's doorstep. Ashgrove Cheese is a short scenic commute. The large town of Devonport is nearby for any additional needs.

We were handy to necessary shops.
We were handy to necessary shops. We now the place from a pervious visit and like it as a holiday destination - friendly, with everything we needed. This time we did not do more than replenish supplies and get meat at the local supermarket.

I was there for work, so unfortunately I didn't get to appreciate all of what Port Sorell had to offer. It was often dark after finishing work (winter). Although the accommodation I stayed at had everything I could want for some R&R.
Beautiful surroundings
Harringtons Bakery is a MUST to visit
Wish I could have stayed longer

Tasmania has a lot of facets.
Tasmania has a lot of facets. It is good to see other places in this lovely state. I think Port Sorell could work a bit harder to please tourists, but I guess this will come. The beach experience is quite good at Port Sorell, but you need good weather, and I guess Tasmania is not known for this. Beware of the sand flies if you work to Point Sorell, or go to the nearby Narwarntapu National Park - my wife did not want to get out of the car, and they seemed to love the insect repellant I was wearing.

Port Sorell is a great location just outside of Devonport, it was very peaceful. It is a nice place with ready access to many areas in Northern Tasmania. Nice beaches, good services and wildlife. Nothing is too far away and we saw some beautiful places like Green Beach, Latrobe, Mole Creek and it's caves. We ate out at Verona in Devonport and what great food and service. There is a Woolworths there to purchase supplies.
Gorgeous period house right next to the beach. We stayed in the Blue Room with a perfect sea view across to Bakers Beach miles away.
This old County house has a charming, somewhat faded grandeur to match the rather homespun service and the sumptous overgrown gardens - none of it perfect but somehow all fitting together as a package
Do check out the drawing room and library for lots of fascinating original fixtures and fittings.
Make sure you eat dinner in the hotel if offerred, the local dining options are pretty poor.
We required no fuss accommodation for Easter, this fit the bill really well. There was a kids playground that was a sandpit with play equipment and the kids enjoyed it fine. The park was very quiet and safe to have children be kids. We had no issues at any time with staff or visitors of the park. If your after a budget place to stay I would defiantly recommend. Port Sorell was lovely and if your happy to dive 1 hour in any direction there was plenty to do and see.
I wish I could have stayed longer to have a look and really appreciated what Port Sorell had to offer.
Unfortunately, I was there for work and as it was winter, it was dark after i finished work.
The hosts were awesome in accommodating my last minute needs with bringing my mother and fur babies.
The accommodation had more than adequate amenities and was very spacious, modern and clean.
Beautiful location and gardens. Breakfast was amazing - fresh bread, homemade jams, freshly brewed coffee - one of the best breakfasts. We also dined in one night of our stay and the food was first rate, could not fault the food or service.
An added bonus was that our room was pet friendly, so we were able to bring our dogs with us. There is a wonderful dog-friendly beach across the road.
The host was very pleasant and helpful, making us feel welcome, and the property was in a quiet area, a short walk to a beautiful beach setting at Port Sorell. The facilities were very clean, tidy and accommodating; well stocked with extra bath towels, beach towels and blankets. The bed was also exceptionally comfortable. Overall, a memorable stay at an affordable price!
I loved that I could take my dog with me on our family holiday. I loved the amount of space and different areas for our family members to hang out and relax. Being in the country and so close to the beach was fabulous! We had 4 horses as neighbours, which the kids and my dog loved. It was overall a very relaxing place to be and I would stay here again.
The spacious living area and well equipped kitchen. Breakfast was best done by bringing ingredients with you. Breakfast was available offsite at a cafe 300m away. Jason, the owner, was most accommodating and had the heaters on prior to our arrival to take the chill off the air.
Host was helpful despite me messing up time of arrival. Great facilities. Great location both for Narawntapu and seeing penguins. Port Sorell was beautiful shame we could not stay longer. Accommodation was spacious and well equipped lovely sitting out area.
Everything. The place was nice and modern. Quiet. Super clean. It far exceeded my expectations. If I ever travel to Port Sorell again, I’ll definitely be staying here. I will also tell other people about the property.
Quirky place but with all mod cons. Olde Worlde hotel that encourages guests to interact with pre-dinner drinks. Meal was good and a great wine cellar. Ideal location for taking Spirit of Tasmania daytime sailing
Staying at Hawley House with our pet was great. They also have beautiful dogs of their own there. And the continental breakfast is amazing with fresh made fruit salad, and lovely bread with home make jams.
The amount of food supplied was very generous and fresh. The whole experience was excellent, the accommodation was clean and spacious and the surrounding outdoor area was peaceful.
Private, quiet and exceptionally clean. The cottage has everything you could need. Great walking tracks nearby, through the Port Sorell Conservation Area to the Rubicon Estuary.
What a nice spacious place with all you might need for a few days or an extended stay. Not too far from shops with places to go fishing if the tide and weather agrees.
Bev and Martin provided us with a lovely place to rest our heads while visiting Tasmania. They were helpful with sights to see and the breakfast was delicious.
Ruby Soho Villas was a great spot in Port Sorell. The villa was exceptionally clean, modern and had everything you needed with a great layout inside and out.
