Location of the Hotel was really good. (It was a mistake I made to stay) as my friends husband has a sore leg but hurt it more playing bowls so it was very difficult for him to negotiate the stairs. I also didnt realize that their room had a bath/shower which also made it harder for him to negotiate. I did ask them if they were happy to go to the Exchange Hotel as you had stairs and they didnt think it would be a problem.

Price was excellent for a room for two nights. Provided column heater, and clothes hanger to dry off wet riding gear. Room and facilities meet my requirements of accommodation for the time stayed. Staff were helpful and friendly 5-star rating. Quiet area, plenty of security cameras, I was able to place the motorcycle around the back, no structural cover from the weather or fencing/gate. A food van takeaway also parks in the driveway of the weekend, convenient for dinner meals. Also, a couple of flights of stairs, unsure about rooms available on the ground floor. Maybe enquire if your unable to climb the stairs. Good value for money. Not far from restaurants, hotels, 300 to 500-meter walk or ride/drive.

Motel was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly. In BH for a funeral, Oasis was ideal for a short stay.
Broken Hill (for me) Female married in her 60's. I love broken Hill. I dont know why really but it gets me. We drove out to the Sculptures while our husbands played bowls. They were fantastic. (second time) Yes you have to pay and need a credit card. $10 and I think $7.50 for seniors. Once you enter the park you can go 2 ways. Yep we took the wrong one. Left you go to an area where you can walk through the bush, have toilets, BBQ area and family friendly. You can also walk to the Sculptures long stretch for us up hill. Hot (in June) I hope they rectify the signage entering the Park as on the way out ON THE BACK OF ONE SIGN IT HAD DRIVE ACCESS TO THE SCULPTURES. Very poor information after you have walked up to the Sculptures and could have driven. Pro Art's art really good even if you aren't into his style. The Big Picture in town fabulous. Bells Cafe south Broken Hill a walk back into the past. Very Busy but worth the wait. Didn't get to see the Flying Doctors but have been and will definitely go next time. Please leave a little donation in the cylinder. The outback need you. LOVE LOVE LOVE Broken Hill. What would I avoid.....nothing.

Excellent tourist town with lots to see and do.
Excellent tourist town with lots to see and do. Cafes and Restaurants (not the hotels) need to take into account public holiday opening times as many visit during holidays and expect to eat out for breakfast and/or coffee. Staff rates are expensive but even on a rotational basis amongst the business owners, public holiday to public holiday will guarantee a full house and good income for the effort on the day. Good variety of accommodation and friendly locals.

We visited Broken Hill for three nights as a learning experience for out 10yo grand-daughter. There is lots to see and do - specially recommend: Outback Astronomy; Historic Daydream Mine; Royal Flying Doctor Service; Pro Hart Gallery; Menindee Lakes area, especially Historic Woolshed and drive out to Burke and Wills campsite; Living Desert National Park especially sculptures; Albert Kersten minerology and geology museum; Silverton, especially Mundi Mundi lookout and the cemetery; Block 10 lookout and Miners Memorial. You should get a 4WD vehicle to access all areas.

We stayed overnight only as a stop on a longer journey.
We stayed overnight only as a stop on a longer journey. From what little we saw, Broken Hill is steeped in mining history and pioneering in Australia. It's a clean and tidy town with good facilities and quite a lot to see. We intend to go back when time allows.
The property was clean and well stocked and maintained. It is at the end of the Iodide Street and Argent Street so within easy walking distance from eateries (Cafe Alfresca and The Palace Hotel) and within easy access to Broken Hill station and the Miners Memorial. Wednesday night was Karaoke Night at The Palace. Access in and out of town is via Iodide Street, The Barrier Highway and Silver City Highway. There is easy off-street parking.
The hotel was at a disadvantage as there had been a large cancellation just before we arrived. As a result, the cook did not come in and so no hot breakfast was available, the bar was not opened etc.
The staff were unfailingly obliging and offered a room upgrade which was accepted.
Good value basic cabins. Dated but everything worked. Fridge and AC worked very well on a particular hot week. Felt rested when we left and staff were very responsive and called us to check we had not left booklets we needed. Would not hesitate to stay here again
The property was well maintained . There was everything that was needed for a self contained stay. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk for our two nights (3 people). The bathroom has been updated and the hot water was almost instant.
Rooms were clean, bathroom was recently renovated and had great shower with hot, hot water.
The Staff were all friendly and very accommodating. Happy to spend time with you discussing what the Broken Hill region has to offer.
Beautiful property that really taps into the heritage of Broken Hill. Well stocked with everything one needs for their stay. Nice and quiet location. Super friendly and helpful hosts. And best of all - pet friendly!
Location is good. There's no pub underneath as it might appear, just a bottle shop. No service at all from staff (was unable/uninterested in helping book an early morning cab, for example), but what can one expect.
The house has everything you would need for a stay in Broken Hill. It is roomy and the air conditioning and television are great. The kitchen is well equiped and there are lots of little extras provided.
The fact that it was pet friendly!! Thank you so much this is very important as we are travelling with a French bulldog!! Location was great so close to the pub where we were having dinner!!
The facilities at the hotel were new and great. By having a self contained unit, it meant we could prepare meals there rather than going out. There was plenty of room to spread out too.
Great staff,Comfortable accommodation the pool was Amazing ,clean room ,fridge,Air conditioning tea coffee milk, very self contained, Shower and bathroom in general was very acceptable..
Location to Argent Street, shops and restaurants is excellent. Pub style accommodation with common toilets and showers. All facilities were older but clean. Great value for money.
Broken Hill is a city of many old hotels and it is lovely to see this one being restored and lived in. A great location to enjoy the life of this unique city.
