The Tourist Lodge is in a convenient location, it’s obviously not the most glamorous hotel however the staff are friendly and the hotel is clean and tidy with good value for money.

Friendly staff; Clean spacious room; comfy bed; nice quality linen; helpful assistance with parking of an additional car & trailer off-street.
The weather and outback environment are very appealing.
The weather and outback environment are very appealing. Great choice of restaurants and hotels, some with local entertainment. Great galleries and museums. Wide streets and no one is in a hurry. Local businesses all very friendly and helpful. Could have stayed longer. Big sky country with all the modern conveniences.

After camping for ten nights it was fantastic to sleep in a bed again! Broken Hill Tourist Lodge is just a stroll away from an awesome bakery and the rest of town. Easy check in, comfy room with ensuite, friendly staff. Will book in here again.

We did not find Broken Hill a very friendly or inviting place to visit.
One of the places we visited was the amazing lookout and memorial that overlooks the town, there were many other tourist here at the time but to our disappointment all facilities are no longer in use. But the most frustrating of all was the fact the toilets were also all locked up. This is something that I would suggest needs addressing by the council.
We did have a good roast lunch at the Italian family restaurant in town and a lovely young man did welcome us at the Art Gallery.
We visited several other tourist destinations but sadly we're not met with much enthusiasm or hospitality.
Broken Hill has a lot to offer and should be a great place to visit as it has a lot of untapped potential.

Easy to get around to sites .
Easy to get around to sites . You do somethings have to limit activities as everything you go you have to pay .Best activity was the excellent walk around the city with a volunteer for 2 hours and it was free

I have been travelling to or through Broken Hill for 40 odd years and find it a bit sad with so many empty shops.Empty shops should be set up with static Art or Craft displays in the windows. This looks more appealing than empty premises and costs virtually nothing to set up or run and it could help promote local artisans and could leave more money in the town. Some enterprising soul should set up a mobile coffee 'truck' up at the lookout, they would make a killing.

There is an enormous amount to see and do here, especially if you have a car or are happy to take day tours out of the city centre. It is deeply historic, with several rich veins of history, including Indigenous, mining, unions, railways, multiculturalism, and art, and even had the first war-time attack on Australia soil, on New Year's Day 1915. The art is fabulous. It is easily walkable and there are several superb museums and surprisingly good food.
The property was clean and well stocked and maintained. It is at the end of the Iodide Street and Argent Street so within easy walking distance from eateries (Cafe Alfresca and The Palace Hotel) and within easy access to Broken Hill station and the Miners Memorial. Wednesday night was Karaoke Night at The Palace. Access in and out of town is via Iodide Street, The Barrier Highway and Silver City Highway. There is easy off-street parking.
One of the best self contained apartments I've stayed at, would definitely stay there any time I was in Broken Hill. Extremely comfortable, all the creature comforts of home, including a guest laundry. Great location to explore the region, quiet neighborhood, within easy reach of city centre and supermarket.
Clean and welcoming, comfy bed, modern bathroom, complete kitchen and all utensils to make it a home away from home. Excellent.
Don't let the outside appearance fool you. The plain 1970's exterior hides a hidden gem. These apartments have everything you could ever ask for (and then some!). Modern , spacious, super clean with fast wifi, a big smart TV, beautiful Super King Bed and great linen. Even a lovely starter hamper. I suspect this is the best accommodation in Broken Hill. It was certainly the best we experienced on our NSW road trip.
The property was lovely, very well presented. Perfect for our stay in Broken Hill with friends. It is centrally located, easy walk to pubs and places to eat.
