Our family room was super spacious and modern, with a good en suite bathroom. It was quiet and comfortable. There was a good storage room downstairs where we could leave our bikes securely. The hotel is well located for the Drau cycle path and the station. It's a short walk into town. We didn't use the pool because the weather wasn't great but we would have if it had been warmer!

An eclectic choice of rooms. In the end I settled for a room on the second floor at the back of the hotel, which turned out to be blissfully quiet, with none of the ambient noise you get from modern hotels.
The bar and restaurant area was friendly and lively, very welcome after a week in relatively characterless establishments further east. The trout I ordered was delicious.

I booked late in the day and they still managed to get me a room. This is a no-nonsense, Hostelstyle place but everything was functional and the location is great close to the highway (not in hearing distance).
Very friendly and helpful staff, all very functional for an overnight stay towards slowenia. Very satisfied and great value for money

Breakfast was great. Basic food was on the table and owners were happy to fix extra warm breakfast upon order. Place and its surrounding is beautifull. There was nice small church just outside of the facility. Good playground for kids and nice views.

Great ski area Goldeck.
Great ski area Goldeck. It is small comparing to well known ski regions in Austria. But it offers perfectly prepared slopes and amazing views. We were there on the beginning of March and there were almost no people. We enjoyed empty slopes with no queues anywhere. Also the price for family ski pass was very good. You have also free entry to local swimming pool if you buy a full day ski ticket.

The property is awesome with kids: trampoline, zip line, various tricycles in addition to more traditional slide and swing. The family rooms
are large and modern. The hotel decor is gorgeous. The staff went above and beyond to find a home made jam in their cellar my husband was not allergic to, and even opened a jar of Nutella for my kids despite all the other options available already on the table. We only spent one night but could easily see us spending more time in the area on another trip.
The concept of the hotel is somehow based on a museum-like private collection - very entertaining. Spacious rooms without air conditioning, the rooms towards the road can be loud. Local companies are reflected in the rooms (bed surrounded by boxes of plexiglas-covered pills). Very friendly, welcoming staff, great food in the nearby restaurant - it´s THE place in Spittal.
PS. We stayed for one night during the Alpe Adria Bike trail - bikes were parked in a shop :-) !
I would absolutely recommend this hotel. The lady at reception was so friendly and pleasant and showed us around the hotel and even up to our rooms. The rooms were quite basic, but modern. There was everything you could need and were very clean and comfortable. We were only there for one night, but it's a beautiful area and I think it would be a good base for trips. We didn't have breakfast, but when I passed through it looked good. Good free parking.
Very clean rooms, there were available hygiene products of extremely good quality (high-end brands), very practical equipment of rooms (foldable luggage table etc.), bottled water was avalable, Covid tests were available, bedroom window had screen against mosquitos, spatious rooms and bathroom, close to a supermarket, good private parking in front of the hotel, extremely friendly host.
Fabulous place with the (family) history! Nicely decorated rooms, renewed modern bathrooms, great breakfast (wide choice, high quality products, good coffee). But we enjoyed most at the pool outside in the wonderful garden. Really peaceful place.
The mexican restaurant in the same house offers tasty dishes! Staff in the hotel and in the restaurant was very kind!
The staff at the hotel is extraordinarily hospitable, the room was pharmacy clean, very good Internet, the food was outstanding and they met our every requirement. We felt like we were their family, not guests who came for the first time. Thanks for 5 wonderful days in your facility, we will come again. BRAVO!
An absolutely wonderful hotel - we had a mountain view room which was such a stunning view! LOVED the pool, was our favourite part chilling in the garden and enjoying swimming with the mountain view - wonderful.
Room was comfy and very clean! Great breakfast too and friendly helpful staff :)
The hotel is nicely located with a great view. The rooms are large and nice with spacious balconies. The breakfast buffet is plentifull and the staff is super nice.
