Even though we only had a single overnight stay at Chalet Cullen, we must say it’s on our top ten experiences of what we have had during our 6 weeks vacation in New Zealand. The unit was fine and cozy, and with a great view to the beach. The local radio station (FM 90.4) plays pop/rock from the good old days. What’s not to like. We can only give our best recommendations.

All bathrooms include underfloor heating and most rooms have a spa bath. Easy access, and even though on the highway, it was quiet. Quick check-in. Shared laundry, but we arrived just in time to get a load done. Our apartment actually looked better than the photos, the kitchen was functional with enough equipment to make a little dinner. We had a spa bath, which we didn't have time to use, but loved that towel warmer. We found a classical music station on the TV! It's nice they provide real milk for your coffee or for hot chocolate with your cookies.

Just 450 metres from Kororareka Bay, Bellrock Lodge offers studios with a private balcony and lovely bay and town views.

A kitchenette with a dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator is standard in all studios. Each air-conditioned studio features flat-screen satellite TV, a DVD player and an iPod docking station. The owners Catherine and Stewart were the perfect hosts! They had a great balance between privacy and sharing important information about where to go.

Guests can relax by the fireplace in the guest lounge, or unwind in the hammock on the terrace. After a day of activities, you can share a meal in the barbecue area. The hostel also features free bicycle rental, and a free shuttle service to Kerikeri airport. Everything! Absolutely lovely and familiar

Located in a quiet position on Kerikeri Road, the colonial-style Kerikeri Park Lodge features modern decor and is set on 3.5 acres of lovely park like grounds. Guests enjoy a spacious free parking area and a BBQ area on request. All accommodation features free Wi-Fi and private cooking facilities. The managers were very friendly and helpful. The room had everything we needed and was in a quiet location, back from the road. Short drive to the town or walking distance to local cafes etc.

Located in Paihia, the recently renovated The Swiss Chalet Holiday Apartment 6, Bay of Islands provides accommodation 500 metres from Paihia Beach and 11 km from Opua Forest. The air-conditioned accommodation is 200 metres from Te Ti Bay Beach, and guests can benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is set 300 metres from Paihia Harbour. Great place, thoroughly clean, well equipped kitchen, only shower gel was missing, otherwise all perfect Thank you🙏
