In the Kannawa Onsen district of Beppu, close to Yukemori Observatory, OMOLOSO Hostel オモロソウ ホステル features a garden and a washing machine. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. The owner, Tosi, was super friendly and accommodating. He allowed an early check-in with no problem, and we also shared a nice dinner with him and his family after he invited us. He also had great recommendations for Beppu, including some incredible onsen that don't show up at the top of Google. The room itself was great, one of the more spacious hostel rooms we had with really comfortable futons, and a nice view of the city. A true hostel experience!
Amami
1.2 km from Setta Beach, guesthouse minkä is a recently renovated property set in Amami and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. It is situated 2.9 km from Tsuchihama Beach and provides a shared kitchen. The guest house has family rooms. Great and lovely guesthouse! Very comfy and clean.
Kagoshima
Situated within a few steps of Iso Beach and 5.4 km of Kagoshima Chuo Station, Guest House CARAPAN offers rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Kagoshima. This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking. The guest house features sea views and a sun terrace. The hotel is far from the centre and the train station, but it is in front of the volcano and has a breathtaking view. Don't miss the sunrise! There is no real breakfast, but quality home-made snacks are offered, as well as tea and coffee. The hotel is above an art gallery and a very good restaurant/bar, unfortunately it closes early in the evening. The main city’s historical landmark, Sengan-en, is 5 minutes walking from the hostel.
Yakushima
Situated in Yakushima and only 700 metres from Isso Beach, 屋久杉楼 七福 features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property has river and quiet street views, and is 20 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, and luggage storage for guests. Great hospitality. Lovely staff.
Yufuin Onsen, Yufu
Situated 42 km from Oita Bank Dome, 湯布院月灯り offers accommodation with a balcony, as well as a garden and a shared lounge. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The guest house features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Nice house and the owner is very kind. It’s quite far from train station but can take a taxi to the house, or if you want to see nice places from the station to the house, recommend to walk, it’s take a time but nice place to see and take a photo. There is a big bath tub that can use 24 hours. In the morning the owner make breakfasts for us too.
Kurokawa Onsen, Minamioguni
The bed and breakfast will provide guests with air-conditioned units with a desk, a kettle, a microwave, a toaster, a safety deposit box, a flat-screen TV and a shared bathroom with a bidet. For added convenience, the property can provide towels and linens for a supplement. The units in the bed and breakfast are equipped with slippers and an iPod docking station. Very nice accommodation with excellent, well trained staffs that will go out of their way to help you. Comfortable rooms, beds. The breakfast was excellent, with western style freshly baked pastries, perfect omelette, served with other things. We get to use the private and public onsen at the main hotel just opposite for free, which we love so much. This is a place where it is convenient if you have a car.
Gokase
Guests can stay warm with a fireplace in every unit. Featuring a private bathroom with a shower and slippers, units at the guest house also provide guests with free WiFi. At the guest house, all units are fitted with bed linen and towels. Super lovely owners, great food, and beautiful lodgings. Definitely worth doing the dinner.
Amami

Everything! Really lovely and helpful hosts and the house is very beautiful and clean. I also recommend eating Keihan as a breakfast there, it's a delicious local dish.
When I return to Amami, I will definitely stay here again ♥️

Great location, right near the subway line and Ohori Park. Very neat setup, the dorm beds have a bit of space inside the cubicles so you can keep a backpack and other stuff handy, and the common areas at the top and bottom are very comfy. Very comfy beds and the dorm rooms were pretty quiet, I had no trouble sleeping.

Clean and relatively large room. The bathroom was rather spacious as well. The location, although outside of the city centre, was pretty good. Across the street there are several stores including a 24/7 supermarket that is much cheaper than any convenience store. Bento's can be bought there as well, and they are all freshly made.
Private, quiet and clean. We could stay in a very special room which was perfect to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Staffs were kind and dinner and breakfast were delicious. Thanks to Sanso Tensui. We hope to stay again
This hotel is a typical Japanese style accommodation. It is very comfortable having a lounge and kitchen where you can sit western style but still is typically Japanese. It also looked onto a quaint little garden. It is in the middle of the porcelain street in Arita if that is what you are going there for. The owner is very helpful and speaks English if required. Some nice little temples and porcelain museums around. Short taxi ride from the station or quite a long walk. A nice quiet place to stay.

Very quiet and discreet location. Top class food prepared in house and served in traditional Japanese style. Hot baths were private and so clean. Staff were helpful, friendly and respectful. This is a traditional high class, high quality, quiet boutique establishment. Room was so very large! This is THE ryokan traditional experience to have!
