The Marquess of Exeter, hotel in Corby

Set in Leicestershire countryside, in picturesque Lyddington, The Marquess of Exeter is a historic country inn with a traditional restaurant.

Dave the general manager advised us 2 days before our stay that the old management had left, and they would not be able to provide an evening meal and breakfast, for the night and morning of our stay. The hotel is in a beautiful quiet location.

Superstores were quite near and there was freezer in a room (great)! Window to high street to observe street life. Room was quiet ja central heating was on (no need socks with sleeping). Toilet and shower (private) was outside the room but i suppose it was bigger than bathrooms normally! Good situation near station and Adrenaline Alley. New Centre (50's-60's "new town") with brandstores maybe 15 min walk away.

It was a lovely, quiet location, with a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. My host was extremely accommodating, offering me refreshments, showing me to my room and helping me plan my bus rout for the next morning. The room itself was beautifully decorated, with a large comfortable bed and lots of floor space. I had access to a private bathroom just downstairs, which was lovely and clean and easy to use. I would definitely return again when traveling in this area!
