We received a warm welcome on arrival, and the room was large, immaculately clean and comfortable with tea making facilities and. fridge in the room. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. The receptionist on duty directed us to the local shopping area immediately around the corner where there are a number of good restaurants. There are also plenty of parking spaces on the property. We found that the staff had lots of good recommendations about the area.

Location was amazing along a canal with a lovely walk alongside the Inn where several houseboats were moored. There is a lovely outdoor beer garden which is enclosed so my children had a great time playing here while we ate outside in the stunning summer sun. The room was spacious and comfortable. Love the Bohemian flair of the rooms, gardens, and lounge! The "cottage" was tucked away in a corner on the ground floor so it was very quiet. The furnishings were terrific, and I particularly enjoyed the large claw foot bathtub in the room, although some may be put off by the location right in the bedroom (there is a wonderful shower in the private bathroom if privacy is a concern). Lovely to soak after a long flight from the US and train ride from London! The staff graciously allowed us to stow our luggage after checkout so we could wander about unencumbered. They also assisted with getting luggage down the stairs at the entrance.
