It's a no-frills type of ryokan in a fairly old building. I stayed here 10 years ago and was happy with the accommodations for the price, so I decided to book it again. You can tell the building is showing its wear, but the staff is friendly and the baths are very nice.
The rooms are spacious and have Western beds as well as a tatami area with futons that can be pulled out if you want a more traditional place to sleep. This is also nice if you have more than two people wanting to stay.
The view of the river is very nice and the general atmosphere of the area is quiet and relaxed.
