Very quiet place but also very close to the Main Street. Nice breakfast options, Betsy and her staff were very friendly, free refill cold water. The rooms are really big, very clean and well equipped. We just had such good nights sleep as the bedroom itself doesn’t have a window, so no daylight which is quite exceptional in the Philippines, and no noise from the dogs or roosters! AC was super modern and quiet. We really loved our stay here!

Foreign tourist destination. The road leading to the beach has all the things one need to resupply and eat. There's a loud music playing even in the night. And there's a tourist extorsion booth (also called sudden environmental tax payment booth) located in this road. But sarcasm aside, it's a nice starting point for local attractions such as Kawasan falls, white beach and so on. Highly recommended.

It's definitely an area you'll want a motorbike for to make the most of your stay. Once you get out of town, the travel lightens up as you venture further south. We only had one full day to make the most of it and we were able to see two different waterfalls that were a little over 90 minutes away from Moalboal. We traveled here from Siargo Island, so the pace and hustle-culture of the locals was MUCH higher than we were used to. It's not a huge deal breaker, but hanging at White Beach turned into the same vendors coming by at least three times each within an hour span to ask us if we wanted the same thing they were pitching. Again, to be expected being in a more touristy area, but I give it a knock since for some that can be annoying. The main thing here was the waterfalls and snorkeling and those things were so worth it, so I'd say if you're a diver, down for snorkeling or up for some adventures with the waterfalls (i.e. jumps) than this place will give you all the great memories.

To get the best out of Moalboal you have to adjust to tropics-time and get up early; fantastic experiences you’ll remember forever, but a NORMAL day starts at 5am, an early one at 3am. Then an early supper while you watch the astonishing sunset from the hotel restaurant (the best in the town) at 5:30, and in bed for 9 or 10.

MoalBoal is a good mix of beach, swimming/diving, bars and laid back Philippino culture. You can eat Philippino, Greek, US, UK, and a variety of food. This is not a 5-star location for facilities, but it is outstanding value and welcoming for divers, and swimmers and has a relaxed vibe. There is a good mix of foreigners/visitors and Cebu locals... good for people-watching. I genuinely like this resort because I am not put off by the amenities. If you are looking for a 5-star experience... stay in a 5-star resort, not here. If you are looking for adventure from canyoneering (nearby) to diving or just swimming among shoals of fish and seeing turtles... then MoalBoal is for you.

There's a bit of everything here for most people, depending on what you're looking for. The foreigner area is a bit away (3 km) from the main highway. There are lots of restaurants and bars, dive shops and hostels there.
There are plenty of daytime activities, but you may need to sign up for a group van the day before. I did and recommend the big canyoneering trip where you jump off short cliffs into pools of clean water (15 m is the highest, most are like 3-8 meters). You'll need water shoes and a heavy duty waterproof bag for your phone (no ziploc bags, they won't work). You will be swimming in one of the cleanest rivers with lots of water falls (ends up at Kawasan Falls) and there's volcanic rock formations and great views.
I didn't do the whale shark viewing or the island jumping, but there are plenty of choices that are family friendly. At night time there's one or two smaller discos that are open late.
I wouldn't highly recommend this area for solo travelers, it's more for couples and families and groups of friends.
You should definitely rent a motorscooter if you want to see all the surrounding attractions on your own schedule, otherwise you'll be paying for a lot of trike rides or waiting on group vans.
Gas is pretty cheap, and I only spent a couple hundred pesos on gas over three days to see pretty much everything (even Osemena Peak). Scooter rental is 350-500 pesos per day.

I love Moalboal!
I love Moalboal! Amazing place for snorkelling, great outdoors activities - the canyoneering was one of my highlights of the Phillipines! Everyone should go to Moalboal while in the Phillipines if they can!
This hostel is by far the bestest in Cebu I have ever found. Clean, quiet and very very safe. The staff are super friendly. It just walking distance to the center of Panagsama beach that even I walk alone as a female at night is very safe (past 10PMish).
There is also a very lovely french bakeshop / cafe in the front that serves really great food and beverages. Plus next to the hostel entrance is a lovely artisan couple (filipina wife and american husband) that bake bagels - FRESH bagels every morning and other bread!
We had a lovely stay at the Blue Orchid. The views over the ocean were gorgeous and the sunsets from the resort were amazing! The staff were really nice and helpful and there was a friendly and laidback atmosphere to the place. They also organised our trip to do canyoneering at the falls, which was an awesome experience.
It’s outside of the hustle and bustle of town, but you can walk to white beach along the front of the property, or ask for a trike into town easily which takes about 10 mins.
The hotel is very beautiful although its still being completed. The price is affordable. The grounds, pools and rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff are very accomadating; especially the front table - Pedi and Dawn. Felt very secure with Adrian The security guard patrolling the hotel grounds at night. Lovely stay for the 3 of us girls. The beach was literally 1 minute from our family room which we took the opportunity to go watch the beautiful sunset every single evening.
Stayed in a few places around Moalboal and this is hands down my favorite one! Gorgeous views from a cozy bungalow and a beach access with guaranteed 3-5 turtle sightings daily! I even saw one almost 2meters big!
Food was also quite affordable and ok. You can rent snorkeling gear for 150php for the entire stay.
Location is not close to the center but they also offer motorbike rental and it was about 13 minutes to the central area of Panagsama so it was ok.
It was during their soft opening, so not everything is completed yet. Didn't matter though, we had a fantastic three days with friends. Quiet location, room was super, bed very comfortable, great shower, good wifi. Food was excellent and staff were well trained, polite and helpful. Easy drive to White Beach and great snorkeling. Diving, waterfalls, canyoning, hiking can all be arranged at the front desk. Maya and Nathan were great hosts.
The property is clean and close to everywhere, the Panagsama beach for sardines and many restaurants and spa. All the staff are very friendly and the property sends useful messages about transportation and things to do in Moalboal before my arrival. And they help book with itineraries for local travel experiences. Also, they have a cute chatty cat who kept welcoming me when I came back from outside everytime!
Very pleasant staff. it's a family hotel where everyone has a smile on their face. Always a receptionist on hand
Small but perfectly sufficient sized pool, the kids loved it, it was their favorite
Easy to get a tricycle from the hotel to get around
Mini-bar prices are very reasonable, sometimes cheaper than in the surrounding sari sari shops
Only 10-minute walk to restaurants and beach
The place is on a private compound, the room is very spacious, clean and I like the sitting area outside as well. Breakfast is great and the staffs are so kind and helpful. They helped us book airport transfer which is a 3-4 hours drive. It was worth it for a comfortable trip to Moalboal. I really enjoyed my stay and my trip to Cebu and wish to be back one day.
The most comfortable apartments in the Moalboal for the affordable cost. The only thing you need is rent the bike and then enjoy, because the location is not really close to the beach. But for its price it is the best option,
With amazing owners and service. Rooms are comfortable and have everything what is needed (the stuff in the room is new and good working)
We attended Secret paradise as part of our honeymoon.
The staff were amazing, nothing was ever too much and we were greeted with the loveliest surprise in our room.
The photos on this website don't do the hotel justice.
Ideal location and was easy to escape back to the hotel when the main street in moalboal was a bit too hectic
This place is a pearl in Moalboal!!
It's a small, simple, nice and cozy hotel in a quiet area.
It has an amazing private beach where you can relax under palm trees and just in front there a some nice snorkeling places :)
The stuff is amazingly friendly and always ready to help out!
We would definitely come back :)
We stayed at Cebu Seaview Dive Resort for 4 nights (5 days). The hotel and especially the kindness of the staff was exceptional! The location is good, there is a nice swimming pool and easy access to the beach. We rent a motorbike for 2 days, so it was easier for us to visit MoalBoal.
"I recently stayed at this private hotel in Moalboal and it was the perfect escape from the noise of the city. The staff were friendly.. The hotel's location, with its private access to the beach, made for a peaceful and relaxing experience.
Good location just a feww steps to the beach, very near the turtle seeing spot, though the road to the hotel is a bit narrow and bumpy, not accessible for cars. Room is spacious, modern, clean and quiet which I like. Friendly staffs.
Very affordable but the place is so neat, great customer service, strong wifi connection. It is near the highway, although far from the white beach (15 mins ride by motorcycle) but they have a motorcycle rental.
Lovely location with pool and great service, staff is very attentive and friendly, the food is super delicious - we had dinner there every night. Very good breakfast as well.
