The room was small but had everything we needed. The bathroom facilities were close to our room & better & newer than anticipated. The kitchenette was also a pleasant surprise. Easy walk to town but would recommend staying in & having the most delicious seafood chowder I've had in years.

The area is beautiful, the beach and the lake. There is free camping at the lake by the way. I would do that next time. I ate at the Mahinapua Hotel however most of the time the kitchen is closed. What I had was basic. I would recommend Fat Pippi's pizza for whitebait fritters. That would be my next choice. I would avoid the Mahinapua Hotel on my next visit.
