Christchurch is a beautiful city with a curious mix of old and new architecture. The library was a standout visit. They are still in the process of rebuilding but there is so much to enjoy. Would love to return.

Christchurch is an interesting city.
Christchurch is an interesting city. It is constantly developing in the wake of the earthquake. As a visitor from the UK, I would find it helpful.if there was signage to the buildings and locations in the city. In the west we use brown signs to point people in the right direction.

The property is clean and well maintained, you can see down the street and out to the nice garden. Larger than we thought. 10 steps up to bedrooms which didn’t bother us. Car is parked close to front door which makes it easier to pack. Location in a quiet street.

We were picked up only 5 min after a call to the Sudima. Van driver was friendly and helpful, considering it was after midnight , we were impressed. Check in was easy. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and we were well rested and ready to start our holiday, we were even offered a lift back to the airport to collect our hire car. Driver Ken gave us lots of advice for our trip. This hotel so close to the airport and way cheaper than any other accomodation I looked up, we were beyond impressed.
All we wanted was a room close to the hotel to sleep for the night. This hotel was just what we needed. Clean, simple and a decent cost. The bonus was the common room downstairs where we ate our meal. Our flight was really early in the morning and it was less than 10 minutes for us to walk to the airport so we didn't have to rely on transportation. We stayed here when we landed in Christchurch and also before out departure.
Location is everything. I normally fly to Christchurch, then overnight before getting the intercity bus home the next morning. Christchurch City Hotel is the perfect location. It’s only a 7 minute walk to the bus station. The rooms are a good size, not the teensy tiny rooms of some other budget hotels nearby.
Yes you can get cheaper rooms nearby, but this is the perfect stopover.
I love this hotel! This was our 2nd stay and it’s my go to hotel in Christchurch because of it amazing location, dwntwn across from the gardens and museum. The 2 bedroom apartments are very spacious, modern, comfortable, quiet and have great views. It’s excellent value for money and there’s a cafe below and a coffee truck outside.
We were travelling with a stopover in Christchurch overseas, and it made sense to stay near the airport to save us hurrying in the morning we booked for the proximity and we are pleased with the hotel the restaurant fantastic.
