The guesthouse gave a accurate description of the area so we knew what services were there and not there and could plan ahead. We loved walking around and the sights and hikes that were nearby. It was so easy to get to the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, and we could go back to see them at night too. The hosts had many recommendations for what to do and it definitely enhanced our trip!

Absolutely loved the variety of fresh, farm to table offerings, and homemade breads at breakfast. Dinner menu was extensive, meals were delicious. Enjoyed seeing the sea birds, and sheep in the pasture. Views of mountain and bay/ ocean were great. Very close to Glacier Bay and Diamond Beach. Peaceful. Staff were friendly. Highly recommend and will return when I come back to Iceland.

we had an early assembly for ice cave/glacier walk so the location was perfect (<15min drive). Nearby area to visit are Diamond Beach & Iceberg Lagoon but we missed that due to bad weather condition.

Wonderful place to stay! Review of Hali Country Hotel

Wonderful place to stay! Review of Hali Country Hotel Reviewed today We chose it because of the proximity to the glacier lagoon and diamond beach. What we didn’t know was that it was the perfect place for a super comfortable first night after flying and a long drive. The owners contacted us in the morning to ask if we’d like dinner, which we gratefully agreed to, as we’d not been to this area before and knew we would be tired after a long travel day. The dinner was delicious with great choices, and was beautifully spread red and served. The surrounding property was stunning - farmlands and majestic cliffs filled with seabirds. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and new modern amenities. I will definitely return

Some great features in this part of Iceland, Diamond Beach was just incredible and like nothing else I have ever seen, just wish I had had the time to stay and take photos all day and night. The LAgoon upstream was also incredible, worth visiting after high tide and again as the time is coming in, the Icebergs move in a different way at both stages of the tides and it is worth seeing both.

its just great to see the icebergs at the lagoon floating out to the sea. If you have time, watch the whole cycle of the tide. Also don´t miss diamond beach. Especially in the morning when the sun rises you can take great pictures of the sparkling ice pieces lying on the black beach.

The location is good for joining tours from “Glacier Adventure” and you will get a discount from the Hostel. Moreover, you might see the Aurora light if you’re lucky enough. Furthermore, the WiFi network was strong. Also, you will meet different people around the world. If you forgot to buy some food before your arrival, 1. the hostel had a shelf in the shared kitchen which sells food; 2. there was a restaurant nearby. At last, feel free to enjoy the welcome cake and drinks.

Beautiful location with easy access to the glacier lagoon and surrounding areas! The room was clean and the hot shower was much appreciated after a long day in the rain snd cold. We planned ahead and brought sandwiches because there isn’t much in the way of food in the area and that worked out well with the mini fridge to store food over might. We were sorry we couldn’t stay longer, but will come back the next time we’re in Iceland.

Amazing hosts, friendly and helpful. Great location and great fresh coffee machine. Welcome Marriage cake - a delicious treat! Great to chat with other travellers. Quiet, esp considering fully booked. On that note - book as soon as you can. There is little accommodation available and Hotels are expensive for a family. Would happily return here.... Guests were considerate of each other.

The owners of the guesthouse are so friendly! Family run guesthouses are the best places to stay in Iceland. The place is sparkling clean and only a 10 minute drive from the glacier lagoon and diamond beach. There is also a restaurant and a tour operators in the little village which is all walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay at this place!

The location is brilliant, just off the main road but stunning views all around of the glacier, mountains and sea. The restaurant served lovely Icelandic dishes (a bit pricey but normal for Iceland I'd say) which is good as it's the only option for meals without driving. Room was a good size with comfy beds and it was nice and quiet.

Great little hotel near Glacier Lagoon. I liked that room had heated floors and towel warmer. Good breakfast. Pretty remote location. The restaurant is at reception, so don’t need to go anywhere for dinner. Dinner was good, a bit pricey. Glacier Adventures are next door for ice cave and other excursions.

Excellent location alongside the Ring Road with beautiful mountain views. The host was so friendly and the kitchen area was cozy with complimentary coffee, tea & Icelandic cake made daily. A quick 11 minute drive to Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon made this the perfect resting place.

We loved that this is more of an apartment than a hotel room. Although our stay was short there, the apartment gave us room to spread out after being in the car all day. It was clean and comfortable. Also it included breakfast which was a great way to start our day.

Great location only 15 minutes from the glacier lagoon, and dark enough at night that we could see the northern lights from right outside the building. We also had a delicious dinner at the on site restaurant. The double bed was huge - like a king size.

The hostel is located in a very small village (few buildings), where there are also two restaurants. The room was good, the shared bathrooms were good, and the staff was very helpful and nice. It is a very good solution in such area. I recommend it.

Great location for Diamond Beach with an excellent restaurant next door. Rooms are cosy (like a cabin), but a nice size, and the place was clean. We saw an owner briefly, but checked in and out by ourselves, which is the norm in Iceland it seems!
