We came here 33 years ago for our honeymoon, we love this property for sentimental reasons, although it’s changed over the years (what hasn’t) also the area is just idyllic, peace and quiet which is what we needed.

The room was very good, clean, and nice outlook over the garden. The offer of fresh milk left at your door early each morning was very impressive.

We chose the area because of its associations with Thomas Hardy; the cottage where he was born, the church where he was baptised, sang in the choir and where his heart is buried (possibly inside a cat.)
Dining in both pubs in the amazingly stretched out village, The Thimble and The Piddle Inn, also the Royal Oak in Cerne Abbas.
You need a car to get around as there's no bus, apparently.
Dorchester is the nearest town and the Cerne Abbas Giant is only about 3 miles away. Jurassic Coast and dinosaus along with Durdle Door attract crowds.

I loved it.
I loved it. Great hospitality, beautiful location, spotlessly clean, a lovely couple running it. Can't fault it and wouldn't dream of trying.
I needed a quiet bolthole and a base for excursions into the gorgeous countryside. I came in May which was a perfect time to see Dorset in all its green glory, and this country house retreat fit my needs perfectly. You can use it a a B&B but in truth it's more like a small, well-run hotel.
Good food, a great welcome, kind people who are serious about the quality of what they offer. Excellent.
