The breakfast was amazing, I had eggs Benedict and the breakfast was served in a nice bright room. There was a small lounge/bar next to the breakfast room, so it was the perfect place to relax or, do a little bit of work on a laptop.

Lovely hotel, old world charm and regal feel to it.
Great location, driving distance to town centre but nestled in quiet corner alongside apple orchards and lake behind.
Delicious breakfast, number of options. Limited menu for dinner and lunch, but absolutely spot on and exquisite.
Top it all, stellar Staff and service, must mention ‘Kevin’ amazing person, very helpful, courteous, hard working and made us feel at home.
Charmi for being lovely host, and for the tour of the old side of hotel, and the countless stories and hotels history. Enchanting.

This centrally based hotel is bright and spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the cleaning is of a very high standard. Although it could be noisy, the staff provided ear plugs (there was a music festival occurring in the city) and made sure you wer placed away from the noise.

Location, cleanliness, comfort...and a bath! Very welcoming staff. Able to store bags for a few hours after we checked-out.

We stayed just outside Littlebourne in the village or Ickham.
Ickham is a very quite village with not much through traffic and it's possible to walk down the middle of the road for quite a long while. Walking is the best way to get around the village because it would probably take you as long to get to your car and move it 200 yards to the other end than it would to walk there, plus you wouldn't see all the ancient buildings or stop to admire them.
It's full of old buildings, The Duke William was comparatively new, from the 17C I think, but others were much older.
The Duke William, where we stayed, was full of local customers at the bar when we stayed and they have a good supply of drinks available, alcoholic and non, as well as coffee and tea.
It's within easy reach of Canterbury but I'd recommend avoiding driving into the city but get a Park and Ride instead.

An historical town with several points of interest...
An historical town with several points of interest incluiding a 16th Century church; a tithe barn that is still in use; one store where the postmistress was also the cashier in the store; great footpaths around the village; a short car or bus ride to Canterbury; in short, we loved it!
