"Stumbling upon this gem of a pub accommodation was a stroke of luck for us! We needed a spot to rest our heads before an early morning Channel Tunnel journey, and this place exceeded our expectations in every way. The rooms, situated above the pub, were not only conveniently located but also boasted a handy side door and fire escape, ensuring a seamless early morning departure.
Upon arrival, despite our late check-in, the staff welcomed us with open arms. Their warmth and friendliness instantly made us feel at home, and they even took the time to offer recommendations for nearby dining options when we missed the kitchen hours.
While the rooms may have had a slightly dated charm, they were clean and offered excellent value for money. This establishment truly understands the importance of a comfortable stay without breaking the bank.
Should our travels ever lead us back to the area, there's no doubt we'll be returning to this wonderful spot. Thank you for a memorable stay—we couldn't have asked for a better experience!"

The King's Arms is a very old property and therefore the owner/manager is limited in what they can do. The decoration in the room is a little tired but reasonable clean. All normal facilities provided in the room. Meals were very good and the staff were very helpful. Reasonable value for money and parking was easy despite the King's Arms beng on the main street into Sandwich

Sandwich is a sleepy town, full of narrow streets and a picturesque river side. There is plenty to see, quaint shops and lovely pubs. We went out of season so it was quiet and easy to get around. Summer might be a bit different. We had lunch in The Sandwich Bakery Company, which is family run and welcoming and dinner at the Crispin Inn…great steak and lovely staff.

Sandwich is a beautiful town with a long history and a plethora of historic buildings, squares and narrow streets. You can also walk along the river and around the town walls.
There are a number of bars and individual restaurants--try the Toll House--smokehouse and grill and as a coffee and deli-the No-name Cafe.
Easy to spend a couple of days here and convenient location for exploring other towns such as Deal, Margate and Ramsgate.

A lovely little town, with lots of interesting history, streets, pubs & restaurants. Great walks & plenty to keep you interested. Local buses to Dover, Ramsgate etc. Not very frequent & didn´t run after about 18.00 hours but if you planned well, it worked. There is a train station as well but we didn´t use that.

We booked a walking tour of Sandwich with the local history society before we went and thoroughly enjoyed it. The museum is not big but has very interesting display cases. We had trips out to Richborough Roman fort and a boat trip to see seals - and they obliged.
There are several places in Sandwich for lunches and dinners. Ver interesting place to visit.

Booking.Com is rubbish and l will never use them again, l think l said that after the first time but will make a note for myself this time. We stayed in Sandwich for one reason we were going to a family event. Booking.com stated: Landmark River View, toiletries, ironing facilities,, iron, hairdryer, clothes rack, seating area, breakfast included. What we got was: No landmark view, only a view of the main road and wall opposite, no toiletries, no iron, no hairdryer, clothes rack consisted of a couple of hooks on the wall with three hangers, the seating area was one very old chair that sank at the back when sat on. Not only was the breakfast not included but there was no breakfast at all, we were told there is a cafe up the road. It was a 20 minute walk, l could not go as l told Booking.com l need a room close to the ground as l have breathing difficulties, My partner walked to this 'cafe' it was over expensive, for what was no more than a child's meal. It was very archaic, it was like walking into 1930's room, even the furniture was l930's and when you opened it it smelt musky. The Hotel said they had told Booking.Com many times that they did not do breakfast, but they kept sending people to include breakfast. It did not matter much to us as we were there to see family, however l think it would have ruined someones holiday it they were there for the area. Sandwich is very expensive, there is no parking, infact there is almost nothing there. Unfortunately, l am not able to download my photo's from my phone.
Jack was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. He made us feel very welcome - a botlle of prosecco upon arrival, put up lovely Christmas decorations, explained how to operate the modern appliances and suggested different places to visit in Sandwich. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend it to anyone. It was like a home away from home - warm and toasty.

Delicious food, friendly staff who were very helpful. The family room was huge and the bathroom was massive! The shower was incredible, didn’t want to get out! The bartender (Northern Irish) was lovely and went out of his way to find us a seat. This is a lovely hotel right in the centre of Sandwich with a roaring log fire, lovely restaurant and nice rooms.
We spent two days and two nights in Sandwich. Our stay at The Fleur De Lis was really nice. Our rooms were comfortable, warm and cosy. We had all we needed. Huge and tasty breakfast was included. We also had our dinners in the restaurant at Fleur De Lis and they were tasty and freshly made. Staff was very kind and helpful. We recommend The Fleur De Lis!
Hosts exceptionally friendly and helpful. Bottled water and milk in the fridge for us.Barge was very warm, cosy and comfortable. Very clean and plenty of towels and hot water. Decks very pleasant to sit out on. Barge very central to Sandwich which is a delightful town. Pubs served excellent food. We will definitely be visiting barge again.
I loved the historical feel of the place. It perfectly fits the theme of the town. And the location could not be better: On the quay, a couple minutes walk from the center, across the street from a great pub. And the food in the hotel was fantastic and not overpriced considering the atmosphere.
We had a wonderful time in Sandwich and the Coach Studio was just right for us cosy, clean and quiet.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Great location, Sandwich is a pretty town and there are beaches only a short drive away. Good price. Breakfast was good quality, sausages and bacon looked like they were from a proper local butcher.
The hotel was ideally situated and the room was spacious and quiet. It also had a very effective fan which was essential in the extreme heat. The breakfast was excellent although I did not like the vegetarian sausages on offer.
Large size rooms, which are perfect for relaxing after a long drive. The grounds surrounding the property are beautiful. The real feeling of an English house! Also the proximity to Sandwich is quite great.
Great location, comfortable room, good breakfast. Provided everything we needed for a short stay in Sandwich. Welcoming, friendly and helpful host. Good to be able to sit and relax in the garden.
Very friendly, kind host. The breakfast was the most nicely prepared I have had in the past.
The stable house we stayed was very cosy and atmospheric in the centre of Beautiful Sandwich.
Old fashioned charm. Traditional furniture in the hotel room. Good breakfast. The food in the restaurant is very good, it's popular with the locals so book a table at busy times.
A lovely cottage in wonderful countryside and close to the Sandwich Bay. Extremely friendly and professional owner and an adorable dogs!
