I stayed here once before, a few year ago, so for the most part I knew what to expect.
The rooms are self contained stable rooms located at the back of the main building away from the pub.
The Bell does not offer breakfast (except by special arrangement when booking) however, they do a decent evening menu in the bar. The staff were all very friendly including the bar manager (who also checked me in upon arrival) and the waitress.
The food is good quality and the venue seems to attract local residents from the village as well.
Just 300 metres from Newmarket Railway Station, Byerley House offers cosy bedrooms with private facilities. Newmarket Racecourse is a 20-minute walk away.
