Absolutely fabulous. We had a spacious, comfortable room with easy chairs, a coffee machine, a bath with loads of hot water as well as a shower. The receptionist was excellent. Staff in the restaurant were also great and the food was fine.

Hawnby is a peaceful beautiful location within a short distance of Rievaulx Abbey and the busy bustling town of Helmsley which has a really good choice of restaurants and cafes.
If you are looking for a quiet unspoilt location for sightseeing and walking then this is the place for you.
Breakfast was excellent and superb value. Staff very friendly and efficient. On arrival, we were a little disappointed at not having an en-suite room as requested, however, the owner, Judy quickly provided an alternative cottage, The Smithy just across from the main hotel. Judy is friendly and made us welcome, given that she was super-busy preparing for a wedding the next day we really appreciated her efforts. We couldn't have been happier and have already booked a return visit.
It was a perfect stay in a beautiful hotel, the evening meal and breakfast were delicious. The room was extremely comfortable and well appointed with gorgeous views of stunning Yorkshire countryside.
An excellent start to our trip to Yorkshire. Home from home. B & B with the addition of an fabulous dinner and good company. Mandy and her staff were definately 5 star.
