The location was great as we arrived on the train and it was just outside the station.
The room was lovely (if a little warm for us).
The view was over the carpark, that didn't matter it was only one night. But we were over the kitchens abd the fans were noisy.
The breakfast was excellent, loads to choose, you wouldn't go hungry, good value. Set us up for a long day at chester zoo.
We got the bus to the zoo, with the help from reception.
Short walk to the centre even with a 5 year old.

Made to feel special. Staff exceptional. Breakfast was wonderful. The room was clean and opulent. We smiled through our whole stay. My parents had their wedding reception here in 1963, so it was very emotional as they are no longer with us. Thank you.

Breakfast was fantastic. Lots of choice, very filling and nice having table service. All staff brilliant.
Staff were very amenable and it was an easy hotel to access.

Current renovation work meant we swapped rooms as initially all we had was scaffolding at the window.
Breakfast was just adequate but definitely not great value.

Ask the reception for a quiet room, mine was overlooking the M56, luckily I had some earplugs with me so that filtered out the noise.
Its ok but would rate the hotel as being on the same level as a Premier Inn, it used to be a more higher rating than a Premier Inn but standards are not what they used to be.
Food was ok but don't expect 4* restaurant class food.
I cannot comment on the other facilities as was only there for one night

Garden City is an awful place.
Garden City is an awful place. Luckily, this hotel isn’t really in Garden City but conveniently placed just off the A55. The nearest village is Hawarden, which is lovely - pubs, farm shop, Gladstone Library. But really this hotel is a base to explore Chester (15 mins drive) or the North Wales coast.

On arrival staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful.
On arrival staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant were extremely busy but the rooms were quiet.
The room was of a good size and well equipped with hairdryer and ironing board etc.
I found the mattress hard but this may just be personal preference.
The bath was very slippery without a mat or rough surface for showering. This should be rectified as it could be dangerous.
Tea and coffee were provided but these were very basic. It would have been nice to have had more of a choice.
We were visiting family in Hawarden but also had a trip to the Blue Planet Aquarium and Cheshire Oaks planned. The hotel is
Overall I felt it offered good value for money.

Convenient hotel and friendly staff. Nice set up.
Convenient hotel and friendly staff. Nice set up. However the accommodation was of a very poor standard. Handy place to stay in terms of location. But I wouldn’t recommend if you have very high standards of cleanliness.
This hotel is easy to find, with a large car park, and a great location. Our room was large, with a nice view of the internal gardens and pond. The bed linen and towels were fresh and clean. The bed was rather firm but that is down to individual preference. The hospitality tray was stocked with tea, coffee and milk, two mugs but no glasses. The gym was big, with a good range of machines and free weights. Large Sports bar attached, was quite busy but always somewhere to sit. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is extremely clean and decorated very nicely. The rooms are very nice and the beds are extremely comfortable. The staff here are exceptionally. There all kind and very accommodating. They made our stay unforgettable. Especially Cerri, Chloe and June who all went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful.
I have stayed at this hotel many times. It is definitely improving and I enjoyed my stay. My interactions with staff were very good and they were welcoming and friendly. The hotel was in good repair and clean (which was not always the case). All facilities were open. There was a nice atmosphere.
I chose this hotel for both its location and also because I have stayed in numerous Village Hotels over the years. Location and facilities in terms of swimming pool, gym and restaurant etc are all good and I have stayed here before and also met clients due to location etc,
Hotel guests take second place, gym full of old local people, restaurant is really expensive and always full of football enjoyers, can't really say it's guest focused. No food after 9.30 pm. Overall, room was ok. Just don't expect too much
Unfortunately the facilities that we paid for were not working which spoiled the occasion for us as we look forward to having our Spa breaks and always make full use of the facilities.
