Nice resort in general, very helpful and friendly staff, food was good, golf courses looked really good (I didn't use them but very tempted to revisit and play golf).

The room was very clean and the kitchen really useful. The complimentary breakfast was great since we arrived on bikes, and a good amount for our three-night stay. Juice, milk, coffee, tea, sliced bread, honey, jam, butter and cereal. We would have preferred wholemeal bread rather than white, but that’s personal preference. Close to lots of beautiful sights and pubs.

The unit was clean and tidy and provisioned with a range of breakfast cereals, bread and spreads and orange juice for breakfasts during the stay. There was also plenty of on site parking available. The unit was set back from the road , so there wasn't much traffic noise.

Very interesting project and the lodge was perfect for a one night stopover. Lovely location and enjoyed a walk in the woodland. The decor was beautiful and everything was really clean. On site cafe did a great breakfast

A lovely friendly place with plenty of room to chill and a relaxed atmosphere. A great place to use as a base for visiting the area. There were some good places for food locally which we also enjoyed, that were recommended by the owners.
Not far from several big National trust gardens and the historic town of Battle as well as Bedgebury pinetum and Bewl water.

I visited Shoywell Cottage to work on a book, and found the serene surroundings, including a lovely garden with a duckpond deep in the countryside perfect for this purpose. Jolyon and Lawrence were charming and attentive hosts, as were their three quiet and perfectly behaved dogs.
High quality breakfasts, energising company, and lovely things to look at made this a memorable stay. I can see why Shoyswell Cottage receives so many repeat bookings. My only gripe - I prefer s bigger teacup!
