Cute little hotel, for the price very good. The room was clean and friendly and we even had a balcony. The village center is only a few minutes walking. Breakfast had all the essentials and was good too. We had our dog with us and there is a great little walk directly on the other side of the street.

When we travel through Europe, my husband and I, we always appreciate being able to check-in on our own because we usually arrive very late at night. Check-in was very easy to do, its very intuitive. Also the refreshment fridge where we could buy Bionade when we arrived was very nice. Breakfast was excellent and the balcony overlooking the mountains was a bonus.

It's a lovely Black Forrest village near the Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market- one of the most unique markets in Europe. Its a short drive or train ride to Titisee or Freiburg. We were there in December but there seemed to be quite a few summer activities and sights offered Overall, I enjoyed the relaxation and fresh forest air and atmosphere before a week adventure to Strasbourg, Baden Baden and on to Frankfurt. Made for a beautiful first stop on Christmas Market adventure.

It was beyond my expectation. So quaint and charming. It felt like a storybook weekend get away. I would absolutely go back and stay. Perfect location for multiple families wanting a trip away together with their own privacy and space.

Hinterzarten is a sleepy and quaint village in the Black Forest a walk through the forest away from more touristy spots like Titisee-Neustadt. I like visiting these places but returning to a lesser known village like Hinterzarten. Bus and trains easily take you around the area as well. We visited Freiburg for a day and then came back to this lovely village with a handful of wellness hotels and a few shops and restaurants. If you want a quiet stay where the focus is on wellness and nature, this is a great spot.

It's a great choice.
It's a great choice. Location in the Black Foest is such a plus, Hinterzartin is big enough to walk ar0und the town and eat out if you please. A much better choice then Titisee, the tourist town a few kilometers. If you want a much more relaxes stay, this wouldn't be the one.

Hinterzarten is a beautiful village in the Black Forest with beautiful Chalet style houses. An ideal location to do as much or as little as you want. Oh and yes, a gorgeous bakers/café/cake shop!
I normally don’t write reviews, and I normally don’t care much about hotels as a solo traveler. But Hotel Sonne Garbo has made my trip in Hinterzarten so happy, that I wanted to stay in the hotel more, and feel sad leaving it.
The owner has a great laugh and smile, she was very friendly. The breakfast was very delicious and cute, the owner gave me a table next to the window and I can have good view of garden.
The room was very cute and has lots of details that makes your stay comfortable. I wish I could come back again some day!
Hotel am Bach is a really nice boutique hotel, with a great atmosphere. The room was large, nicely decorated. There is a relaxing lounge with comfortable chairs, a great library and a piano (if you wish to entertain :-). The breakfast served is different, no run off the mill bread/ham/egg, but all this plus loads and loads of small dishes with homemade jams, herb butters, pastes, dressings etc. A treat.
The entire decor is clearly aligned with the vision of the owner.
Location is outstanding. Parking next door to hotel. Breakfast was great and we chose the restaurant for dinner and were very pleased. Food and wine selections were great and delicious. Bus to Ravenna Christmas market picked up next door to the hotel...no more than 1 minute away from hotel front door.

The hotel decorated beautifully. They gave me the exact room I asked for and I had a great time sitting in the balcony next to the room dring beer and enjoying the view. The staff are very friendly and breakfast is aboundant. It's a quiet samll town, but it makes you slow down to really enjoy your holiday and release your stress.
We had a great winter trip to Hinterzarten, especially thanks to our stay with the Witte Family. A large apartment with its own separate entrance, this is a great value to enjoy Hinterzarten and the Black Forest with ski trails that go directly through the backyard. Would certainly stay here again!
I am going to be honest. It is a new upcoming hotel that it is still under construction. It will have good potentials but in my opinion, it is not yet ready to be opened for the public. Maybe in a few weeks, it will be completed and cleaned in order to welcome the guests.
It was a snowy winter wonderland while we stayed at this hotel. We were here for the Christmas Market and we were close to the trail that went to the market (approx. 1 hour hike). The room was quiet and clean. We enjoyed the house Gluhwein.
Excellent facility. The hotel was very comfortable with spacious rooms. Enjoyed the balcony. Great views of the surrounding area. The quaint neighborhood in the mountains with a snowy blanket was wonderful. Breakfast was very good.
