Good location right on the edge of downtown, staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with some nice vegan options. Room was fine, two queen size beds for our family of four was much better than two double beds which are often found in hotels. Overall the room was decent, bathroom could use an upgrade but everything was clean and well maintained.

I seen development in the City since the last time I have visited. The city is no longer boring, but getting vibrant with many amenities and opportunities.
Smaller City but has everything what's needed for a modern urban life.

I was there primarily to see "Mandy Patinkin in Concert", so I can't review Halifax for you, other than the driving experience... Street signage could be better in a lot of the downtown core... but yes to coming back to see more of it....

I've stayed in this city many times.
I've stayed in this city many times. Always lots to do no matter what your interests. It has a pretty vibrant night life, and I've always felt safe here, no matter where I walked. Lots of history, lots of night life, lots of dining options (Seafood is a MUST!!), lots of tours, museums, etc. I live in Ottawa, and Halifax easily compares in the museum and history aspects, and in some ways is even better. Go there. You won't be disappointed!!

Halifax is fantastic.
Halifax is fantastic. We travelled there 2 Septembers in a row (4 and 2 days respectively). if you stay downtown, you are able to walk to all the local attractions- we especially loved the boardwalk, citadel, and shopping downtown. Many many fabulous restaurants and museums. Also, fun to stay in Halifax proper and take excursions to local attractions( ie Peggy's Cove and Laurencetown beach) Prepare for rain - but this in no way detracts from having fun in this great city

If you only have a bit of time do the harbour hoppers tour.
If you only have a bit of time do the harbour hoppers tour. Lots of historical information about Halifax. A tour of the Citadel, important or historical sites and a brief trip into the bay to see the Halifax Harbour. Two thumbs up and very reasonably priced.

Halifax is more of a town than a city.
Halifax is more of a town than a city. I would say 2 days is ample, 3 at the most. I would say it's a walkable place but I walk mostly everywhere. If you use transit (bus, ferry) or use the bridges - you need to have cash (coins - $1 and 25 cents).
The ferry across to Dartmouth is a fun little outing.
The Titanic exhibition in town is informative but over-priced. At most you will spend an hour in it.
I found Halifax a curious mix of individuals - lots of students and a fair amount of homeless folk. Some folk were super friendly but there does seem to be an element of 'tension' between the locals and the more transient populations - tourist, students, cruise people. I've travelled a lot and have never had that sense of tension before.
Accommodation is super expensive or pretty basic. I stayed in a hotel in the North end, it wasn't cheap, $168/night and it was not good.
My overall recommendation on Halifax - Go take a look for a few days but head off to see the rest of NS.
The staff were really great and location was excellent. Close proximity to everything in downtown Halifax. Enjoyed their choice of hot and cold breakfast. Comfortable bed. Stayed here from June 10-13, returned June 16th for a night before our flight on the 17th. We returned our car rental at 11am of June 16th, hotel check in was supposedly 3pm. I called the hotel to ask if we can leave our luggages at the lobby while waiting for check in. Advised to come and unexpectedly, we were checked in at 12noon. It was a big relief for us!
Very happy with our stay. Located just off a major route so easy to get to downtown Dartmouth or Halifax. Room was spacious, clean and equipped. Queen size bed was comfy. Room has two large window's for natural light but black out blinds or curtains would be nice for sleeping. Staff were helpful and solved any issues right away. Air conditioner was not working so maintenance brought in a portable A/C unit which served the purpose. Will definitely stay here again!
Excellent location in downtown Halifax! Easy to walk to restaurants, attractions, harbour and the train station. The apartment was excellent - roomy, clean, well appointed. The staff-free check in was easy and the suite had everything described in the information. The kitchen was well-equipped and large. I would definitely recommend the Cameo Hotel and Suites and would definitely stay there again!
The hotel is close to highway exits which was good for us as we were interested in taking day trips. There are lot of restaurants and stores near by. We took an Uber downtown one night to see downtown Halifax. The staff are very nice and the rooms were cleaned every day which doesn’t seem to be the norm right now. They also have laundry facilities available.
The location was great. The room rates are good. A lot of things to do around. More restaurants in the area. Close to Harbourfront. Walking distance to everywhere you want to go downtown Halifax. The hotel has gym, pool and bar. Buffet breakfast was $19 per person. The staffs are friendly and helpful. A good experience overall! I highly recommend.
Perfect for solo travel. The residence looks like a boutique hotel from the street, and inside had so much character. Didn’t feel like a “dorm”. The bathrooms are technically shared, but with a single toilet, sink and shower they lock and are private when using them. The location was also excellent, close to everything you want downtown Halifax
The location was perfect for all the landmarks and sites downtown. Plenty of things to do and see in the Halifax and surroundings area. The staff were very courteous, friendly and helpful. There were plenty of places to eat out during the day and evening within 10 mins walk. A very good alternative to a conventional hotel accommodation.
Superb hotel in a great location on the waterfront, rooms were extremely well designed with top quality toiletries and lovely touches such as chilled water bottles in the car was returned from valet parking. Loved the concept of the 'speakeasy' bar for hotel residents only -amazing views from there and such fun to knock and be let in!!
I cant say enough good things about this hotel! Each getaway to halifax we stay here with our two australian shepherd. The prince george hotel offers a great location, underground parking, a tasty lobby bar, super friendly staff and they even provide a gift bag for the fur babies!
Cant wait to go back to halifax and stay here again 😊
This is a charming hotel and very well located! Very close to the waterfront and the lively downtown area. The personnel was great as well. Very friendly check in, ability to leave your suitcases at the reception before and after our stay and support with the shower within 1 minute. Our room had a nice balcony.
Excellent location in downtown Halifax. Connected to many stores and services by pedway which is great in the winter months or rainy days. The rooms are basic but quite comfortable. The staff is helpful and courteous. We enjoyed the hotel amenities such as the pool, sauna and exercise room.
Spent just one night while visiting Halifax, but liked the room. It was quite spacious and comfortable. The hotel is very close to the Halifax Citadel, but it's up on the hill. So if you go downtown, you'll have to climb all the way up the hill if you walk back.
this is the best one of the stay we had on our road trip from Toronto to maritime. Room has decent size, very clean. it is in downtown and is in walking distance to waterfront and other key attractions. bonus is it offers coffee 24hr.
Location is great. Downtown Halifax was within walking distance. The room was beautiful and offered very comfortable bedding. Staff was extraordinarily polite and helpful. Dining in the Cannery made for a pleasant meal.
Perfect location, was clean and Exactly as described.
Easy to communicate with.
I’ll be back when need to go back to Halifax and want to enjoy downtown on the waterfront.
