Clean town, good beach, plenty of restaurants and a very good bowls club for dinner, remember to take id. Stopped overnight going and returning from Victoria/ Queensland. There are some good motels just back from the beach.

Call a place paradise and kiss it goodbye. PMQ case in point
Call a place paradise and kiss it goodbye. PMQ case in point
Pros
- The beaches would be among the best in the world.
- Greenery
- Nature attractions/urban wildlife
- Improvements on waterfront world class
- Beach walkway from Town to Lighthouse beach amazing.
Cons
- Roads are simply appalling in many places, just pothole covers holding hands and a should be a real embarrassment to local council, though looks in places they have started fixing the problem
- High elderly and low socio-economic population, kind of depressing local population
- Population/development explosion, high rents and tariffs
- Lots of hoons and bogans, exercise vigilance late at night
- Increasingly visible homeless problem
- Town is over promoted and exploited, certainly not a place to "get away from it all" anymore, its got plenty of what you came to escape, best to come outside of public and school holidays, always some pesky "festival" or event going on blocking roads and causing chaos
- Not a quaint fishing/holiday destination anymore
- If you strike a "Red Weed" season on your holiday, any beach-river activities are ruined.
-Service in most establishments is terrible

Happy and helpful staff at motel and EI restaurant.
Happy and helpful staff at motel and EI restaurant. The comfiest bed 🫠 you could ask for and walking distance to river, beach, restaurants and shopping centre. Given Free coffees upon book in for breakfast was a lovely bonus. 😊
Only disappointment was upgraded to balcony for the treat of the view of the river as shown in picture. We had a view of a car park. 😟

The Bowling Club was located at the back of the apartment building and only a short stroll away. Perfect place for dinner. Also love the restaurant at Westport for dinner. We have been there numerous times and never disappointed.
We have stayed in PM numerous times and always love coming back. Great accommodation, walks, beach and cafes. The Sea Acres Rainforest is definitely worth a visit and the food at the Cafe is lovely.

Nice Getaway.
Nice Getaway.
You can do Jet Ski at $240 per hour, and can swap drivers.
Sea Plane ride was good, but not comfortable.
Book a day in advance else you have to come back next day.
One thing is food is expensive in the place.

Vibrant town centre with lots of restaurants and harbour/...
Vibrant town centre with lots of restaurants and harbour/ estuary views. Great beaches and walks up to the lighthouse at Tacking Point. Must-do staging point if travelling by car between Brisbane and Sydney. Glad we stayed 2 nights rather than 1.
Absolutely cracking little hotel bang in the centre of everything you need in town . Staff are all really friendly and helpful. If anyone's it some nightlife at the weekend This is the hotel to be. So I wouldn't advise coming for a quiet one. At the weekends thru the week it's very chilled food great drinks cheap enough. Handy for the bottleo in the same building for your booze and cigarettes. I will be back
Convenient drive to beaches and town, though far more responsive Flynn's Beach accommodation is available slightly cheaper one street away at a higher standard offering much more responsiveness to messages and phone calls re: check-in, key collection questions we had, means I'd chose them over this accommodation next time I'm in Port Macquarie, once a month.
Cheap affordable easy accommodation, good enough for a place to sleep for one night on my road trip from Brisbane to Melbourne.
Staff was accommodating of late check-in.
The place was clean, everyone else who was staying was respectful of everyones personal space and considerate of noise levels.
Great location. Straight across from the beach and easy walk down town to restaurants and shops. It was so good to find a hotel that is doggy friendly too. It was the biggest reason we chose to stay at Ibis Styles as they allowed our pet to stay with us as well.
was given waterfront views so kindly, without pay extra. Room was exceptionally nice and clean. Batheroom, bed and view was a highight and hotel is located right on water and right in town! staff sooo friendly and the SPA room is awesome! the view is amazing!
Cheap rooms, close to CBD, receptionist was pleasant to talk to and helped to sort out any issues.
Despite any shortcomings it was a pleasant stay and relatively hassle free.
Will definitely recommend for short stop overs on the cheap.
The location of Sandcastle apartments is superb, it's the perfect location within Port Macquarie. The apartment is within walking distance to new restaurants and cafes are nearby. The apartment was much larger than I expected.
The place was busy as its a hotel on arrival. The manager who served us was professional, polite & was interested where we were from & why we were visiting Port Macquarie.
Hotel was cheap and I could park my new car in front of my room and keep an eye on it. The outside lights turned off around 9.30pm to stop people hanging around outside.
I booked in late for this hotel. The manager was amazingly friendly and helpful. The room was nice and big for the price and everything was as expected.
