Where do I even begin? Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that exceeded all expectations. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect, from picking us up at the station to assisting with bicycle rentals and even surprising us with a reservation at a fantastic restaurant at night. And the thoughtful gesture of a gift for our honeymoon was truly touching. The morning was just as delightful, with the hosts seamlessly organizing our tickets, making our experience effortless and enjoyable. As for the accommodations, they were simply divine. The house itself was spacious and charming, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploration. The abundance of food and amenities in the bathroom added an extra layer of comfort, making us feel right at home. In short, we couldn't have asked for a more welcoming and comfortable stay.

We were welcomed early and shown where to leave our bags. Everything was as advertised and the futons were very comfortable. Breakfast was simple and the bread was delicious. I wish we had stayed a bit longer.

We love everything about JuJu Art House and Naoshima. Naoshima is a beautiful and unique island and Juju Art House is a must stay if you intend to stay overnights in Naoshima. It is located just about 7mins walk from the port and if you intend to cook, a big grocery store is just 5mins away. And if you cannot cycle and intend to take the town bus, there is a bus stop near the house (so u do not have to walk to and fro the port bus stop all the times). As for the house, all the great reviews you have read are all true! It is unique, spacious, comfortable, very clean and well maintained and managed. The game set is incredible even my 4 grown children had so much fun with it. Lastly the host is an incredible, friendly, most helpful and detailed person. He will inform you in advance of where to eat, what to look out for and always ready to provide you the best advice. Thank you Marc. Your house is the best and so is you.

I fell in love with this house. It was incredible. Everything I imagined a traditional Japanese style home to be. Plenty of space. A calming aesthetic. Quality home. A lot of outdoor space which must be wonderful in good weather. Plenty of heating. Plenty of blankets. Pyjamas supplied. I wish I could live there - that’s how beautiful it is. I am so grateful for the chance to stay here. Good value for the space. Also, I have to thank the hosts for being so kind, warm and friendly in their communication and for being so generous and helpful. This would be an ideal base for exploring Naoshima. I walked to Uno Port in 30 mins, but without backpack it could be quicker. Probably there is a bus but I didn’t look. It felt so nice staying in a town not routinely visited by tourists. After the crowds of Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka etc this was a welcome respite and a chance to slow down and see a small town, real life.

This perfectly preserved traditional japanese house proved to be the perfect housing for our stay exploring Teshima and Naoshima. Alan, the host, proved to be invaluable in his recommendations about how to best visit the islands. He also gave us tasty addresses for lunch and dinner and even drove us there at night. We think the villa is the perfect setting for a family, it provided us for a welcome respite during our very busy 2 weeks in Japan. We rented bikes and thanks to them, we were able to crisscross Teshima although your youngest son is only 10. Alan not only welcomed us right at the ferry arrival but was always in touch with us before and during the stay. 10/10 ! (The sister villa "Queen" looks very nice too)

The staff were very welcoming, and we were able to get into the villa a little early. The room was clean and comfortable, although I found it quite cold at night. Location not far from the port, and the breakfast café was very nice. We would stay here again.

Amazing place to stay on an amazing island. TSUMUYA was a welcome and relaxing respite during our month long trip. The house is not luxury but beautifully curated and comfortable with an extraordinary range of art books. Perfect to explore the superb galleries and museums that are all in close proximity. Highly recommend renting an e-bike to make sure you explore everything. Amazing and thoughtful service from the owners including great communication, good advice and help transferring luggage. A real highlight of our trip.

A wonderful one bedroom apartment located right next to the bus stop! We loved the location, being that is was off the tourist track. The apartment was in a small fishing village and yet it was still walking distance (1km) to the small town and (1km in the other direction) to the main art installation area. The apartment has one bedroom, a living room and a kitchen. It came with a sweet basket of breakfast foods as well.

This was a budget friendly option for me. Although it doesn't offer the luxury of a good hotel stay, it does have really good facilities. The location was OK. There are two great family restaurants a minute from the property. But it is in a small fishing village, which, although charming, doesn't have nightlife. The bus stop is just outside the property, and you can easily get to all the art installations and museums on the local bus. The owner was really helpful. He dropped me at the ferry port on my last day.
