We stayed for two nights - big bedroom, two king size beds, one single bed, everything very clean.
Self-made breakfast and dinner by Cecilia was amazing, traditional food, fresh fruits and whole grain bread - we loved it.
Smiley and Cecilia spoke English very well, we learnt a lot about the culture and living. We especially enjoyed the two tours we did with Smiley - Volcano Sibayak at sunrise and Batak village and market.
Smiley's Homestay in Berastagi was definitely one of our Sumatra highlights.
Amazing place, amazing staff! We felt very welcomed since the first minute! They also helped us to arrange everything we wanted to do around the village and more!
Pariban Hotel is a new modern hotel located near the Hotsprings of Semangat Gunung. It's a good location for those planning on a hike up to Mount Sibayak or a resting place for the weary traveller with its Hotsprings sprawled in this tiny village. As of my last visit, there is still a lot of renovation and infrastructure happening with new villas and roadworks on the way. Despite that, Pariban Hotel has good service staff, spacious rooms with very tall ceilings and essential facilities that makes this stay a comfortable one.
Wonderful place to stay in a quiet location with beautiful gardens, a spacious villa and some lovely garden surrounded by nature. Thank you Thank you for amazing services Mrs. Lies and all the wonderful staff for taking such good care of us. Such kind and attentive service in a relaxed environment. Really enjoyed our stay here and hope to return one day.
The host Merry was very kind!!! You can book tours at the accomodation Merry wil help you with that! It is also very nice to walk around the village, eat local food and walk to the viewpoint or visit the market.
Quite alright, the rooftop is cool, but there was no good view and no furniture, shade or anything to do on the roof. The bed was nice but the place was loud, there was no specific room to retreat or gather with other travellers without disturbing others. The host is nice and will give you some good advice, but it felt a bit cool with her despite trying to be very friendly.
Nachelle Homestay was an amazing experience. Mery and Abdy go above and beyond to help you during your stay. Besides explaning all the facilities/activities in the village, there are options to have delicious breakfast and diner at the homestay.
We did the Gunung Sibayak volcano tour together with Abdy, which was fantastic.
You will explore the volcano during sunrise, learn a lot about the surroundings and laugh with Abdy.
Highly recommend to stay with Nachelle Homestay!
