Very impressive accommodation. As a couple we’ve stayed in everything from a tent in the Andes, tenner a night rooms in Vietnam to luxury accommodation with private pools in expensive beachfront locales. Now having two young children our requirements for stays have changed, and Strides Barn was perfect. It would easily suit a group of 6 adults as well. Beautiful building and clean, it’s the perfect getaway location to explore the surrounding area of the new forest and Salisbury. It was so good we extended our stay by one night.

Convenient bed and breakfast for 1 or 2 nights. The village is very small, but a good starting point for day trips to Salisbury and Winchester e.g. The B&B belongs to a restaurant, where dinners can be booked. A good breakfast is also served in the same restaurant. The B&B has a private and safe parking space behind the restaurant. There is also a large garden.

This Inn is the complete package. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, the menu has enough variety without being too long, food quality is super (one of the best roast pork dinners ever!), good beers on tap, lovely quiet village location and a beer garden full of comfortable furniture with views over countryside. Not to mention the staff who are all friendly and work hard to make sure your visit is as good as possible.

David was an excellent host, full of knowledge about the local area and had some great recommendations. He provided us with somewhere secure to store our bikes. The welcome package was great too, nice not to have to think about breakfast. The self contained studio room was very clean and was equipped with all we needed for a short break. It is located close to Whiteparish where there are a couple of nice pubs and a village store. Thanks David!

Breakfast was good. We had a cooked breakfast the first morning and the buffet breakfast on second morning. Location was perfect for us as we were visiting family who had rented a cottage nearby. Also pub was handily placed for on;y shop in the village (i.e. it was next door)

The cottage was beautiful with a gorgeous garden and lovely seats under the dappled shade of an old apple tree. The kitchen is very well appointed and the bed super comfy. Overall an idyllic retreat.

Excellent location in the northern part of the new forest. Lovely little village close to some great walking. Food for breakfast was delicious. Made to feel very welcome by the chef who made it an enjoyable experience with his friendly banter. All the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable.

A lovely country pub in a pretty village. Welcoming and friendly staff. Excellent restaurant with great food and good service. Stayed for 3 nights. Our room was spotlessly clean. It was warm and cosy with stylish modern decoration and a very comfortable bed! Cooked full English breakfasts were excellent.
