great location, short drive to the lakes and Windermere and a short walk down to staveley village where you’ll find, shops, a nice pub that does food and has beer garden next to a lovely kids playground. The property itself is spacious, clean and quite modern, with a dishwasher and washing machine if staying for a few days. Parking directly outside.

The shepherds hut is absolutely amazing, a lovely bespoke design and it has everything you could need! It is an excellent location and the hosts are very happy to give recommendations of nice places to go and explore! Gowan bank farm is a lovely place to stay, when we stayed there was baby lambs and we saw one that had just been born, we were also invited to say hello to the baby chicks that had just hatched! The hosts were so lovely and had left us some lovely treats to enjoy after a very long journey! We absolutely loved waking up every morning to the cows in the field close by and the chicken roaming around. Would absolutely not hesitate to go again and have already recommended the farm to all my friends!

We had a wonderful week at Mill Cottage. It's location was just perfect for exploring the Lake District and just taking time to relax on holiday. The cottage was beautiful, homely and has everything you need. We enjoyed learning how to use the Aga and comfy evenings by the fire. Our hosts Logan and Jeanie are just lovely and without their local knowledge we wouldn't have visited some of the places we did. We would 100% book to stay again
