Exceptionally clean and well thought out kitchen set up, lovely firm comfy bed and toasty warm despite some chilly weather! Great location for high peak trail, Carsington and Bakewell. Rod was very helpful on the call before my stay, glad I decided to bring my bike as the cycling was brilliant!

Communication from the host was excellent and the whole stay really exceeded expectations - it's easily one of the nicest places I've stayed and my friends and I all want to return! The location is very peaceful with just the sounds of chickens, songbirds and a couple of peacocks - but still excellent for travel to places such as Eyam, Bakewell, Chatsworth, Arkwright's Mill. The town of Wirksworth itself has some lovely shops and eateries. The house is beautifully appointed and well-equipped while still being immaculately clean and tidy. The outside space was lovely for sitting out in the morning and evening to relax. The welcome basket was a lovely addition, with wine, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and some treats as well as fresh flowers on the table. Attention to detail is excellent including DVDs, games and books for children. It really exceeded what I'd expected from the photos.

Great location, we walked from the cottage on 2 days and did a 6 mins drive to Carsington water on the other day. Everything you need is in the cottage including a washing machine so if and when you do get muddy you can do a wash!!!! A fantastic Chinese and Indian take away in the next village so very short drive to collect good food

A very peaceful spot although on a main road in the village. The cottage was very quaint and comfortable and it a good location for all the places of interest we wanted to visit. The log burner was very effective and warmed us up quickly. It would have been great to have had a couple more logs as the heating was not warming the place up very quickly so the fire was appreciated. A very enjoyable and Casey little cottage.

Quaint little cottage with everything we needed including slow cooker, washing machine and dryer. Welcomed by Helen and rod and some beautiful home baking on our arrival. Huge extensive guide book, games to play. A beautiful little place for our mini moon and great location for exploring the area. Cottage was amazingly clean. Lovely to sit on the decking with a bottle of wine. Also very handy having a driveway in the village.

Lovely, characterful cottage in a quiet, beautiful village. Craven Cottage had everything you could need for a short stay and was spotlessly clean. Plenty of character inside and out.

Modern, clean, well equipped cottage in a little village with pub and restaurant in walking distance. Fair price-value proposition and decent parking options, many local attractions nearby. Everything we needed was there and as opposed to another property we visited during our trip, Craven Cottage ACTUALLY had 3 bedrooms! The master bedroom was a true highlight!

Well equipped, warm (central heating that we could control), clean cottage. Open fire although we did not need this because the central heating was efficient. Having a garden to sit out in. Friendly village.
