Very modern looking Hostel, really nice Bar and Restaurant with a small menu of food to choose from. They have local and foreign staff, which makes it very easy to communicate even if you dont speak japanese.

Local Sake was delicious. Staff could speak fluent English and Chinese. Service was excellent, they even help do the laundry and clean my hiking boots after I got down from Mt. Fuji.

Private Hotel Rei is the warmest place in the cool Kawakuchi Lake during late September. I traveled with my mom and we had a wonderful stay here! The owner couple were so friendly and very welcoming for all the coming guests. They make you feel like going to a close relative’s house. Our stay was super cozy and our room was spacious, clean and even with our own private onsen! The owner was super generous and hospitality to have fun and warm conversation with all of us. And also sharing the history of Rei and their interesting experiences! Unfortunately the Fujisan is too shy during our stay, however what we experienced here is more than the view, and we will definitely come back to visit Private Hotel Rei again! One more thing, the dinner and breakfast were really delicious and with very fine ingredients, one can not only enjoy the Fujisan view (not this time, but on a good day) but also having superb meal. Plus this time there were three groups of guests bringing their own pets together, this place is the best animal friendly hotel I’ve ever been. All units in the hotel are equipped with a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and an electric kettle. Guest rooms feature air conditioning, a private bathroom and a toilet. Bed linen, towels and a hairdryer are provided. Selected rooms feature a dining table and a sofa. The location is very short to Kawaguchi Station. It's about 700 meter from the station. When we came out from the hotel, we can see Mount Fuji in the back of hotel. Very good.

The rooms are traditional, comfortable and clean with lovely yukatas and jackets to use around the facility. The food is wonderful! Such huge attention to detail. As westerners, we had to go into the meals with an open mind but everything was delicious and the lovely host helped us with some videos on how to eat certain things. The staff are incredible, they’re so kind. We had some problems with our bags being left behind in the UK and the lovely host couldn’t have been more helpful with the problem. He so suggested plenty of things to do in the area that we hadn’t heard of. So great!!

Right on the shore of the scenic Kawaguchiko Lake, Hotel New Century boasts spacious Japanese-style rooms overlooking the lake and Mount Fuji. It features spacious hot spring baths with spectacular nature views, a video games corner and a souvenir shop. Free Wi-Fi is available in the public areas. We got the room with Mt Fuji and Lake view - which was amazing. The whole experience with authentic Japanese accommodation and dining was incredible. Yes, it is costly but worth the money. The staff were incredibly friendly and they provided a shuttle to and from the station, they can keep your bags at checkout and even deliver them to the station for our scheduled bus departure. You have access to the spring water baths (onsen) which are really comfortable. The food was laid out in traditional style - they accommodate vegetarians too.

Offering traditional rooms with views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, Komaya Ryokan has a hot public bath and can serve home-cooked Japanese meals for breakfast and dinner. It is a 10-minute drive to Fujikyu Highland Amusement Park. Just located in front of Lake Kawaguchiko and face to Mt Fuji with fantastic unblock view. Walking distance to musical museum and foliage corridor.
