It’s my first time staying in a hot spring hotel, and it’s also my partner’s first time experiencing a hot spring bath. Everything is perfect—the room, the view, the food, and the staffs are very friendly. We regretted only staying for one night; we tried to extend for one more night, but they were fully booked. Definitely will go there again next year.
Comfort Hotel Tendo is conveniently located in front of the JR Tendo Station of the Ouu main line/JR Yamagata Shinkansen and less than six kilometres from the Yamagata Airport.

I stayed at this hotel in 2022 when it was still under a different name. I'm glad I got to stay at the hotel before leaving Yamagata to move to another prefecture.
PRICE: The price I paid at that time was really reasonable considering that it included breakfast.
BREAKFAST: I really enjoyed the breakfast. It didn't seem like it but there were actually plenty of options every day. I loved that there was a "special dish" each day. I love imoni so I was happy when they served it. On another day, there was ochazuke.
LOCATION: The hotel is near Sakuranbo Higashine Station. Plenty of nearby local shops, an AEON Mall, a coin laundry, and convenience stores.
ROOM: The room was perfect for a solo traveler. It was a comfortable size. The room had a view of Higahsine city. Previously, the room had a view of Yamagata's mountains.
MATTRESS: The bed was quite firm. It's perfect for me because I like this kind of bed.
ROOM AMENITIES: The room had all the basic necessities: a big TV, a small fridge, a kettle, a small side table, and some other stuff like wooden hangers, a shoe horn, a flashlight, a pair of bedroom slippers. In the bathroom, you have the usual toothbrush and toothpaste, brush, razor, a hairdryer.
STAFF: The staff were kind but I'm not sure if they speak English. We understood each other through simple Japanese.
OTHER STUFF: Complimentary coffee at the ground floor. Laundry area at the ground floor, too.
Directly connected to JR Yamagata Shinkansen (bullet train) Station, Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata offers comfortable guest rooms with warm colours and modern facilities.

Very near to the station without any noise of trains. The staff was very friendly and the room clean and spacious. Many restaurants nearby and convenient as a hub to visit Yamadera and Ginzan Onsen. Would really recommend this hotel, as we enjoyed our stay very much!
A 2-minute walk from JR Yamagata Train Station, Comfort Hotel Yamagata welcomes guests with a cup of coffee, and treats them to free Wi-Fi and a free breakfast buffet featuring freshly baked bread...

The hotel was right in front of the train station. There are many kinds of restaurants nearby, and a convenience store is on the first floor, so it was very convenient.
The staff always greeted us and tried their best to answer my questions.
Combining comfort with value for money, three-star hotels offer a wide assortment of amenities to keep you content. You can expect to find en suite bathrooms, WiFi in public areas and a dining area with breakfast options. Plenty of chain hotels fall within this star rating and offer central locations close to popular landmarks.
Of course the location... nearest to the JR Tendo station and positioned next to shops and restaurants. The Breakfast area is big and also the lobby is well spaced out compared to other Comfort hotels that I have stayed in Japan.
Beautiful hot springs, both private and ‘public’ for hotel guests only, excellent food and service, and many different locations and experiences to enjoy. We don’t usually book all-inclusives, but really, everything included here was so nice and the dinners in particular were very good quality. Highly recommended, especially if you’ll also enjoy the shogi-themed city of Tendo.
Very tasty and varied with local character.
The location is surrounded by entertainment, catering, parks, convenient transportation, quiet environment and comfortable vision
