Alex is such a lovely lady. Throughout my stay she was very friendly and shared her knowledge of the local area. It was like staying in a home away from home. Her home is very charming. The location was perfect, it’s close to the city centre without the busyness.

We had a pleasant stay with clean rooms and en suite bathrooms. Each of the rooms had 1 double bed and 1 single bed with ample space for 3 people. The staff was really nice and helpful. It was at a nice location with multiple parking areas and restaurants nearby. It was close to the city centre as well. Compared to the other accommodations in the lake district, it is quite affordable and at a reasonable distance from Keswick and Windermere.

Clean and spacious room, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and excellent location to the city centre. The room also had good heating and makes the room very cosy and homely. Street outside was not noisy or busy as I could sleep well at night and I am a light sleeper. The host also allowed me to keep my carbon-frame bicycle in the house.

We had a two night stay at the The Station Hotel, we found the staff friendly and accommodating and the food was good value. The room we stayed in overlooked the road outside so there was some traffic noise if you left the window open I’m sure the rooms away from the road are quieter. On the last day we were allowed to leave our bags in a secure cupboard until later in the day which was very useful. Overall a nice budget hotel, it was also nice to see hotel not taking advantage of the current climate and whacking there prices up.
