The location is very convenient 10 minutes away from the train/bus station. The room was spacious, the bed incredibly comfy with a vast bathroom too. The heating was great during those cold days. Lulu and Sarah were gracious hosts. We looked forward to regular visitations from Meme, the 4 legged estate manager. The secluded location, on the water, yet very accessible to the town centre made for an ideal location. The on-site restaurant is excellent, with a free boat ride to downtown at 9:30 each morning.

The room definitely exceeded my expectations. The room was super clean (I am very hard to please when it comes to cleanliness). I felt the bed was very comfortable. Good care was given to little details available in the room such as very fluffy towels, body lotion, teas, coffee and biscuits. We happened to stay at the accommodation on a Monday to Tuesday, on the pubs closed day, so I can't comment about the noise levels. One thing which wasn't completely evident while booking was that the cooked breakfast wasn't available on our particular days since the pub was closed but I only noticed after booking - having said that, the Rose and Crown were be very kind to leave us many goodies in the fridge in the entryway. There was a good selection of cereal, yoghurts, packaged croissants, gluten free alternatives and fruit. I'd definitely recommend this accommodation!
